Principals Message:
We had an outstanding week at CHS. Last Saturday, everyone had a lot of fun at the Spring Formal, which included food, games, hanging out with friends, and dancing. Thank you to everyone attending and our ASB for organizing such a fun event.
Our Community Partnerships make such a difference. Thank you to College Possible, who helped our students with a pre-ACT practice test in the CHS Library last Saturday to help them be college- and career-ready. We had 13 students testing bright and early on Saturday to take the Practice ACT, which was also the day of the dance, so it really shows the commitment the students have to College Possible and their future.
Excellent job to our CHS SUN program, which is expanding and offering even more clubs and programs for the Spring SUN Program. There is now a SUN Activity Bus after school as well. Spring SUN starts right after spring break, so sign up today.
Centennial had one of the highest attendance rates for the practice ACT for all our sites on Saturday!
Our CHS Band did an outstanding job representing our community by playing at three of the Elementry School's New Gym openings this week. Thank you for supporting the Powell Butte Elementry, Patrick Lynch Elementry, and Parklane Elementry School communities. It just shows that we are all Centennial Eagles.
The wrapping up of Trimester 2 on Thursday went well, with students doing well on their finals. Our Seniors did a fantastic job representing our school during the Senior Assembly, where they learned more about their upcoming graduation ceremony.
Centennial Spring Sports Teams Are Off to a Fantastic Start! Thanks to everyone who cheered on our Centennial Spring Sports teams. Our CHS teams are doing a great job, playing well, and showing great sportsmanship with many wins during their first week of Competition. Seeing our Spring sports teams off to such a great start is exciting.
Good Luck to the CHS Hi-Cs Dance Team, competing at the OSAA State Championships in Salem today. They just finished their first performance. (See Pictures)
Remember, Monday starts Trimester 3, and all students start their new Trimester 3 classes and Trimester 3 lunch assignment as we continue our mission of helping each student demonstrate high academic standards in an equitable, supportive school culture and graduate college career-ready.
Make sure to also check your mail for Trimester 2 Reportcards, and STAR results will be mailed home this week.
Remember, "Once an Eagle, Always an Eagle" at CHS!

Renaissance Star Math and ELA Assessment Results Mailed Home with Report Card (Week of 3/18). Included with the Trimester 2 Report Cards being sent home this week are student Renaissance Star Math and ELA assessment results. CHS Students will take the STAR Math and ELA Assessment three times this year through their Advisory classes. We use the results of these assessments to measure general achievement in reading and math and to determine individual student learning needs. As students take the assessment over the year, it will also show student learning growth and identify skills they can work on to improve their learning. It is essential to understand that these test scores provide only one picture of how a student is doing in school. You can Scan the QR Code or see https://www.renaissance.com/star-scores/ for more general information. If you have any questions, please get in touch with your student's teacher.
Women's History Month
March is Women's History Month. Join us as we celebrate Women's History Month - A time to recognize and celebrate women's contributions to history, culture, and society at CHS. Here are some great featured resources and opportunities, explore online exhibits, resources, biographies and support leaving at home. Watch a morning news feature on the Smithsonian's recent project celebrating the women of science with incredible use of 3-D printing. Take a look at A Mighty Girl's booklists for confident and courageous girls.
