DECEMBER ESSENTIAL - AT ALL TIMES KEEP YOUR HANDS, FEET AND OTHER OBJECTS TO YOURSELF
When you transition from one subject to the other, the change will be swift, quiet, and orderly. We should be consistently able to turn from one book to another, complete with all homework and necessary materials, as quickly as possible. The opportune amount of time to spend in transition should be less than ten seconds, and we will work towards a goal of seven seconds.
The more time spent transitioning, the more time kids have to talk, move around, etc.
When in a line, walk single file, two to three feet behind the person in front of you with your arms at your sides. Face forward at all times. There is absolutely no talking.
Make your mind and body safe
Keep others around you safe
JANUARY ESSENTIAL- PERSEVERE AND CHALLENGE YOURSELF
Don’t give up when something is hard
Say “I can” statements.
- The more challenges you take on, the stronger you become
JANUARY FOURTH THROUGH THE FIFTEENTH IS ESSENTIAL 10 BOOTCAMP
This is a fun event for the students to review the Essential 10 as we come back from break. Teachers and students are encouraged to dress up in camo or green, brown, and black on January 4.
WOW WHEEL WEDNESDAYS
Every week, teachers will choose one student who was showing exceptional House Character/Spirit and upholding the Essential 10 from the week prior. This is an honor to receive. This wheel is special and holds its own magic. No one can touch it unless they are given permission. On Wednesdays, the chosen students spin the wheel and earn house points.

SPELLING BEE
Green Tree Elementary Schools held classroom spelling bees in grades fourth, fifth, and sixth during the month of December. Due to the 2020 pandemic, Green Tree is not holding a Scripps School Spelling Bee in the gym this year, but students did get a chance to compete and spell with classmates. We are very proud of all of our students who participated and gave it their best efforts. Please see the pictures below to see the top two spellers in each classroom. Congratulations to our spelling champs!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Ann Muench & Mrs. Julie Campeau
