Historical Sites Will Be Visited On The 8th Grade Trip
The Danbury 8th grade class will be visiting Washington D.C. to tour some government buildings and historical sites. Some places that may be visited include the Capitol, Library of Congress, the White House, Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, and a possibility of many more historical sites.

Washington D.C. Field Trip
The class will be leaving the school Tuesday morning and spend the night in Gettysburg, where they will take a ghost tour of the battlefield and watch an IMAX movie. They will continue to Washington D.C. the next morning and will return to the school around 10 PM Friday night. The cost of the trip is $410. This price includes motor coach transportation, hotel room for 3 nights, meals (including breakfast, 4 lunches, 4 dinners, and snacks), and admission to any of the sites visited.

Washington Monument
Monument built to honor George Washington, the first president of the United States. The monument is currently closed for repairs due to an earthquake on August 23, 2011. Visitors can still stand outside and look at the 555 foot, marble building.
The White House
The official home and workplace of the United States President. It is located at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue and was built between 1792 and 1800.
Capitol
The meeting place of the United States Congress. The building sits on Capitol Hill. The history of the United States can be seen in the artwork found in the Capitol.
