A supernova is a star that explodes and creates a ton of light
The light of the star will increase in up to 1,000,000 times the original light. This event occurs roughly once every one hundred years.
supernovas from what stars?
- low mass stars make red giants and then white dwarfs
- massive stars make super giants and then supernovas, these can out shine a whole galaxy or even the sun
