Reminders
No School for students on Monday, the 10th. Parent/ Teacher Conference day.
Recess:
Thank you for spreading out and monitoring students during recess time. Your presence / proximity prevents problems. THANK YOU!
Social Dues:
Don't forget to get your social dues into Laura Lauck as soon as possible.
Literacy Plan:
1. At your grade level, how long are students able to independently read? What strategies do you use in your classroom to increase independent reading time? Talk as a team about how this is working at your grade level. 2. What strategies do you use to increase a child's love of reading? Are students able to read books of high interest?
3. What is the teacher role while students are reading independently? What systems do you have in place to conference with students and see independent student goals?
4. How are students interacting with the texts?
Kim Sutton Creative Mathmatics:
Would you like to share what you are doing with Kim Sutton Math at the next faculty meeting? Please email me! The more we share - the more that we learn from each other!
PPfT:
It's time for your first PPfT evaluation! I will be evaluating 3rd, 4th, 5th and SPED during the fall semester. Alicia will have K, 1st, 2nd, and Special Areas. You will hear from Alicia and I regarding the schedule.
Technology PD:
Do you have a technology tip that you'd like to share? Let me know so that we can highlight it during the next faculty meeting.
Parent Conferences:
Just a reminder, if you have a 504 students, please invite Shanna or Alicia to the parent/teacher conference so that we can go ahead and complete the 504. When meeting with parents of GT students, be sure to include the differentiation activities for that child.
Student Flu Shots, 2nd Round
Students will be picked up or called for at 8:00 am. You will receive an email from Adriana with the student list. The flu shots will be given in the hall by the library.
Read Naturally
Read Naturally is a fluency building program. Although it does not directly work on comprehension, better fluency will eventually mean better understanding. This is a fluid program. We had many students make such great progress last year, that they no longer needed it.
Students in RN will attend 30 minute sessions twice each week. We rely on parent volunteers to work with the students and will be assembling volunteers and working on a schedule over the next few weeks.
A Quick Screener was placed in your box last week, please let either Stephanie Eddleton or Laura Lauck know if you need any more information about this wonderful program.
Library News
Don't forget... If you want to collaborate with the librarian (story/lesson/activity), send her an email or stop by to get on her calendar.

Computer Lab News
We discovered a new tool to promote a growth mindset called “Sown To Grow” at the Tech for Schools Summit in Austin last weekend. https://www.sowntogrow.com/#what-we-do
It allows students to set learning goals, track their progress, and reflect on their growth. It is free and straightforward to set up. After you set up your class you will need to email the company with a list of usernames and passwords you want for the students. I’ll be glad to help if you have any questions. Let me know what you think.
