Math
Math WOW: Divisor
Science
Next week, we will learn about using levers for lifting and how friction can stop motion.
Reading Language Arts
In grammar this week, we learned about how adverbs can tell how, how often, when, and where.
For writing, we started and will continue imaginative stories. Some kids are surprisingly having a difficult time coming up with a completely original idea. Many of us want to use familiar characters, TV shows, books, and movies when making up a new story. I am stretching your learners' imaginations and asking that they be creative and come up with something brand-new. I can't wait to see what they write!!
Social Studies
Expectations at Home
For reading, learners have library books and iStation. Please let me know if you need another copy of how to download iStation to your home computer. It's such a great resource!
Important Information
- Please contact us if you would like to be a chaperone on our field trip. We would love for you to join us! You must have a background check on file for this year. These can be done online through the coppellisd website.
- Your kiddo will come dressed as a pioneer on Friday, November 22nd! Some ideas for proper pioneer clothing: Boys can wear slacks/jeans, a plain white t-shirt, suspenders, a button-up solid or plaid shirt, a vest, a straw hat, etc. Girls can wear long dresses or skirts with a blouse, an apron, a bonnet, etc. My advice would be to go to thrift stores or ask around! This has been a tradition at Austin for many years, so someone might already have these things laying around! (Click on the picture above to get a better look.)
- Learners may bring a change of clothes on Pioneer Day, the 22nd.
