Grandparent's Day Information
W.W. Woodbury Elementary School is proud to present “Grandparents’ Day 2023!”. Please join us at Woodbury on Friday, April 21, 2023 so that we can celebrate our students and their Grandparents!
Because of parking and capacity issues, we will have two separate events. In the morning, from 10:00-11:25 a.m., we will celebrate the “A classes” (Students in Mrs. Mathis, Mrs. Rogowski, Ms. Bols, or Mrs. Davis’s classes). In the afternoon, from 1:00-2:25 p.m., we will celebrate students in Mrs. Hill, Ms. Loux, Mrs. Sam, Mrs. Cryer, and Mrs. Morgan’s “B & C classes”.
Both celebrations will start in the “All-Purpose Room” for a special musical ensemble and will be followed by a visit to the classroom for a quick art project. Upon completion of the project, families are then free to visit the book fair, take a photo or play a game of bingo.
Please let us know who will be attending. Grandparents' Day is limited to grandparents or grand friends. Please, no parents. guardians or siblings. Without consent, signed by a parent/guardian, grandchildren will not be released to grandparents for lunch or to go home.

Spring Book Fair
Dear Parents and Families:
Get ready! The Scholastic Book Fair is coming our way (YAY!). Choosing their own books empowers kids and inspires them to become Bolder, Prouder, and Stronger Readers. AND—as always—every book they buy earns rewards for our school.
Here’s what you need to know about the Fair, which will take place Monday, April 17th – Friday, April 21st in the Learning Center from 7:30 to 3:30! Also don’t forget about Grandparents day Friday, April 21st.
This year, say goodbye to cash and hello to eWallet—your child’s digital payment account. Before the Fair, set up eWallet for worry-free, cash-free purchases. Anyone can contribute! Share each child’s eWallet so friends and family can add funds and give your kids more books to enjoy. As always you can also purchase with cash, checks, and all major credit cards.
If you can’t make it to the Fair, then shop at our school’s Online Book Fair. All orders ship directly to your home, and shipping is free for book orders over $25. Your online orders will also benefit our school.
Visit our Book Fair homepage to learn more and get started with eWallet and online shopping:

Kane County Cougars Game: Thursday May 18th
Congratulations to those students who successfully completed the Ozzie Reading Club! They have earned a free ticket to a Kane County Cougar game, a drawstring bag, hot dog, and drink. Family members need to attend the game with their child. This is a fun event that the whole family would enjoy. The bus will be leaving Woodbury at 4:30 (this is tentative as we have not had anyone request the bus so far). The students will be allowed to walk in the “Reading Parade” at 5:30, the game begins at 6:30, and the students are allowed to “run the bases” after the game.
Check out our great work!

New Procedures for Kindergarten Registration
Mission Kindergarten:
We are excited to welcome our new class of kindergartens to the school district. We will have several events to help these learners and their families build relationships with the school district. To begin the process we need all incoming kindergarten families to prove residence and sign up for our “Preparing to Launch” event.
Starting on Monday, March 6 please contact Jody at the district office to find out what you need to prove residence (Residence Paperwork). Once you have proven residence you can sign up for the first event at your elementary school. No families will be given a screening time at “Preparing to Launch” without proving residence first.
Kindergarten Registration Process
1. Contact Jody at the district office at (815-786-2187) starting on Monday, March 6
2. Complete the proof of residency: https://drive.google.com/.../1IkhptNE1jsR8RyhnlJB.../view...
3. Complete online registration in Teacher Ease
You will receive this link once residence requirements are met.
Superintendent's Notes
Please Click Here to access the most recent Superintendent's Notes. The purpose of these notes is for stakeholders to gain district-specific information that may not be included in building-level monthly newsletters.
