Geography
Major cities- Gaborone (the capital), Francistown, Molepolole, Selebe-Phikwe, Maun, Serowe, Kanye, Mahalapye, Mogoditshane, Kasane, Ghanzi, Mamuno, Tshabong, and Mochudi.
Major rivers- The Okavango/Cubango rivers, the Cuando river, the Limpopo river, the Shashe river, and the Zambezi river. There are many more rivers in Botswana, but these are the main rivers.
Kalahari Desert- The Kalahari Desert is a large semi-arid sandy savannah in southern Africa extending 900,000 square kilometres, covering much of Botswana and parts of Namibia and South Africa.
Okavango Delta- The Okavango Delta, in Botswana, is a large inland delta formed where the Okavango River reaches a tectonic trough in the central part of the basin of the Kalahari.
Desertification affects Botswana, because there are lots of droughts over there, so a lot of dust accumulates, creating a desert-like condition. The droughts causes dry environment which is unsuitable for crops, farmer conflict due to over population, and Cattle's not getting fed, because crops can't grow.

History
2. 1965-1966- Bechuanaland Democratic Party (BDP) wins legislative elections, first to be held under universal adult suffrage. Seretse Khama becomes prime minister. He also becomes the preseident of the Republic of Botswana, in September, 1996.
3. 2000, August - President Mogae says Aids drugs will be made available free of charge from 2001.
4. 2008, April - Seretse Khama Ian Khama takes over as president.
5. 2012, November - Government says it will ban the commercial hunting of wildlife from 2014, citing a sharp decline in animal populations.
