BLESSED MARCH GREETINGS!

Deep Roots
"Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving." Colossians 2:6-7
Principal's Corner
GUILTY AS CHARGED
While on the cross, Jesus felt the indignity and disgrace of a criminal. No, He was not guilty. No, He had not committed a sin. And no, He did not deserve to be sentenced. But you and I were, we had, and we did. We are all GUILTY AS CHARGED, but though we come to the cross dressed in sin, we leave the cross dressed in “garments of salvation” (Isaiah 61:10, NIV). Indeed, we leave dressed in Christ Himself! -- Max Lucado (He Chose the Nails). “All of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.” Galatians 3:27 (NIV).
As Christians we journey to the foot of the cross during this Lenten season, may we be reminded of God’s amazing and unconditional love for us through the death and resurrection of His Son, our Savior Jesus, that we look forward to celebrating on EASTER Sunday, March 31. May we be thankful and ever mindful of this, the greatest Gift of all, and be bold in our witness and proclamation of this truth with our family and friends.
Spring is a special time of the year, especially this spring in California, with our hills green and flowers coming to life all around us. Please make sure to take special family time over the upcoming Easter vacation (Mar29-April 5) to enjoy time as a family. Parents are their child’s first and best teachers. We at RHLS feel very special to be in partnership in the Christian Education process with you and are thankful for all of your continued prayerful support of our work together as we anticipate basking in the love and joy of our Risen Savior, Jesus Christ!
Blessings,
Dr. Paul Marquardt, Principal

RED HILL LUTHERAN CHURCH NEWS
Pastor's Corner
Dear Red Hill Lutheran School Families,
I hope you are having a blessed Lenten season and are ready for some beautiful spring days!
As we near the end of Lent and the sacred days of Holy Week and Easter, if you do not have a church home, you are always welcome to worship with us, both in person or via livestream. Join us this upcoming Holy Week and Easter on…:
•
- Sunday, March 24th, Palm Sunday. One service at 10:15 a.m. followed by “Springfest,” a celebration for all ages with food, Easter egg hunts, games for the kids and lots of fun!
- Thursday, March 28th, Maundy (Holy) Thursday worship at 12:00 noon and 7:00 p.m.
- Good Friday March 29th, worship at 12:00 noon and 7:00 p.m.
- Sunday, March 31st, Easter Sunday worship at 8:00 a.m. (Classical); and 10:15 a.m. (Contemporary). Holy Communion celebrated at both services.
On Sunday, April 7th, we begin a new message series entitled, “Who Do You Think You Are?” The Book of Ephesians. “Who do you think you are?” sounds like a rather startling or even rude question. Yet, answering this question makes all the difference in the world! Knowing who we are, our identity, determines how we act, our choices, who we relate to, and even how we understand our relationship with God!
Of course, the Bible has a lot to say about who we are; our identity as God’s people—The Book of Ephesians particularly! As the author of the Epistle (Letter) to church in Ephesus, Saint Paul develops a major theme in the Book of Ephesians: The peace and unity found only in Christ and how believers can live out this cosmic unity in their (our) day–to-day lives.
One of the most commonly used phrases by Paul in Ephesians is that, because of the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus, we are now “in Christ,” our identity is based on Jesus’ work on our behalf; Jesus alone defines WHO WE ARE! We no longer need to look to other people’s opinions, things, philosophies, or psychologies to define our lives. Jesus defines our lives! You are welcome to be with us as we study this powerful book in Scripture!
As always, if there is anything we can be praying for, or if we can assist you in any way, please do not hesitate to call upon us!
Until I see you, may you have a wonderful and healthy Easter! Thank you for being a part of our Red Hill family!
Gratefully in Christ,
Pastor Seth

K.I.D.S. Ministry March Teaching Series – “Glow In the Dark”
Our March Teaching Series, “Glow in The Dark!” begins Sunday, March 3rd. In the dark, a world of neon colors comes to life. Whether it’s the soft green of glow-in-the-dark stars or the bright colors of bioluminescent creatures, light can break through the darkness. When the world needed some light, God sent Jesus, and He can teach us how to shine with God’s light, too! In this teaching series through the Gospels, we’ll follow Jesus’ life leading up to Easter to see some of the ways He can shine bright in our lives. As we explore, we’ll see Jesus is the light in the darkness. We’ll also learn that God chose us, He hears our cries, and we can celebrate because Jesus died and rose again! We look forward to all of the kids joining us during our Sunday morning DiscpleU Educational Hour, 9:15am-10:00am. (Check-In Begins at 9:00am)
