Calligraphy and Painting
The Japanese wrote with brushes and ink on a piece of paper. They did calligraphy because they thought that writing expressed beauty and calligraphers thought that the size of the word have different meanings. Another Japanese art was brush painting with ink on paper scrolls; Japanese brush paintings are very detailed and portrayed landscapes, historical events, and daily life.
Flower Arranging and Gardening
The Japanese also used natural beauty for art and did flower arranging and gardening. In flower arranging The Japanese kept there flower arranging simple. They also made Bonsai trees which was the art of growing miniature trees or shrubs. Landscape Gardeners tried to show nature beauty and designed them for people to think quietly.
