Beryllium history
The element Beryllium was first discovered more than two centuries ago in the oxide form by Louis Nicolas Vauquelin in both beryl and emeralds in 1798. The metal was isolated in 1828 by the action of potassium on beryllium chloride. Beryllium is a gray-white metal and infact, Vauquelin suggested the name glucinium, meaning "sweet tasting," for the element because the element and some of its compounds have a sweet taste. The name beryllium was adopted officially in 1957.it's name had came from the Greek word beryllos, beryl.
In a 1798 paper read before the Institute de France, which is a french learned society. Vauquelin reported that he found a new "earth" when he found Beryllium.

Characteristics
- Beryllium is a steel gray and hard metal that is brittle at room temperature and has a close-packed hexagonal crystal structure. It was light weight but yet durable and strong.
