TO REPORT AN ABSENCE / PICKING A STUDENT UP EARLY
Please call 608-897-2146 or email ashleysmith@brodhead.k12.wi.us All absences must be reported to the office, otherwise they will be classified as unexcused.
If you have an appointment (doctor, dentist, optometrist, etc.), we recommend you get a note to turn into the office. This is called an exempted absence. Exempted absences do not count towards the 10 excused days allowed by law.
If your student will be late to school, please remind them to stop in the office when they get here. If they don't check in, their attendance never gets changed from absent to present.
If you know in advance you will be picking your student up early from school it is helpful that you send a note with them in the morning. It saves us from having to interrupt curriculum time with a phone call to the teacher. Thank you!

April is Alcohol Awareness Month
Help kids grow up alcohol-free: Have small talks
Small talks about underage drinking can make a difference in a kid’s choices. That’s because kids really do listen. Research shows having frequent, casual conversations about alcohol, starting around age 8, can be a lot more effective—and a lot less intimidating—than one super serious discussion. So, start talking. Keep listening. Help give a kid the confidence to grow up alcohol-free. Visit SmallTalksWI.org for talk tips, facts, and more. This campaign is sponsored by the Wisconsin Department of Health Services and Better Brodhead.
Track and Field Days
It's that time of year again! This will be the 15th annual Field Day event. Stella Arn and Gabe Bockhop are doing Field Days for their senior project. Information will be coming home frequently from now until the big day! Friday, May 10th (rain date is the 17th) is the all day event. Below is the t-shirt order form (you should have gotten a copy from your child's classroom teacher). Stay tuned for more information. If you have any questions please email Mr. Bockhop at bbockhop@brodhead.k12.wi.us
