School Newsletter for Parents
Week of October 18
This week was shorter but still filled with lots of joy and recognitions. Students seemed to settle in a bit further, and they continue to re-acclimate to the rhythms and routines of daily schooling. It is wonderful to see a sense of "normal" return to school despite the extraordinary circumstances we're still operating in.

The rest of this newsletter contains helpful information, updates, or reminders. As always, please contact the school office if you have questions (847-486-7700).
Have a safe and happy weekend.

MAP Reports...now what?
Not too long ago MAP Student Progress Reports were made available to parents (see a sample report here). But what do MAP tests measure, and what can parents and students do with the results?
Below see a list of the skill sub-categories that are tested. The report provides information (below the bar graphs) about a student's relative strength in the specific skill areas. As students pursue their individual growth goals, extra attention can be devoted to developing a particular skill strand to have an outsized impact on the overall growth goal. In future newsletters we'll provide more information about these skill areas (all of which are aligned with Common Core State Standards).
