Door Decorating Contest: March commemorates our 2nd College Month because of March Madness. Please spread college awareness and cheer by participating in our door decorating contest. The winner gets tacos for their class period of choice. Deadline is this Friday, March 15th.
FAFSA is open: https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa. FAFSA is how Seniors can get both federal and state grants (free money for college) and guaranteed student loans. It is needed for the California College Promise (free tuition at community college). Start with your FSA ID. (You need your Social Security Number and a personal email.) Create an FSA ID for/with your parent. Get PRIOR year taxes ready (if parent filed). STEP By step guide. We will have workshops to help. No Social Security Number? Do DREAM ACT. It's much easier to do FAFSA than ever. Get started NOW!
FAFSA Fridays! Need help or have questions on completing your FAFSA, go to the College Office in the library any period 1-4 to get help.
Programming: Student programming is in full swing. Our counselors are doing an exceptional job of meeting one-on-one with every 9th, 10th, and 11th grader to program them for the 2024-25 academic year. Please know that, due to this very busy time in the counseling office, the counseling team may not be as available as they usually make themselves. Please ask your students to be patient.
Spark STEM Program: Please share Schurr's Spark STEM Program that introduces STEM careers in the design, construction, and engineering of roads, trains, bridges, tunnels, and airports through engaging hands-on activities with industry professionals. Deadline is March 15th. For more information, ask Nare Movsisyan.
