We are Learning & Having Fun in K-1
Butterfly Lifecycles
What We Are Learning ...
We would like to officially welcome Millie into our class! We are so proud of how nicely the kids welcomed her into our classroom. <3
This week we continued our sequencing unit. We learned about the life cycle of a butterfly and used sequencing words such as first, next, then and last. Next week, we will learn about the life cycle of a Frog!
In math, we have finished our final chapter! We will continue to revisit topics taught as well as reinforce skills through our hands on Math Centers.
On Wednesday, we had some Special Visitors! Sharon from the Theodore Roosevelt Bird Sanctuary. She brought some really cool animals such as a corn snake, different types of turtles, even a REALLY (really, REALLY) big Cockroach. The also got to see wings of a hawk, owl, turtle shell & bird's nest. The kids were able to pet all of the animals and learn about them.
We also had another Special Visitor, Miss 'Aine Lonergan. 'Aine is also a Kindergartener and she loved seeing how we do things here in K-1! The kids were super sweet to her and she said she loved coming into our class.
Bits & Bobbles...
- Please check your child's folder every night.
- PLEASE, PLEASE, (PLEASE) label any and all money (in an envelope or baggie with your child's name) coming into the classroom. This is exceptionally important for lunch money. All it takes is "two loose lunch monies" to get mixed up.
- Please be sure to send in all necessary utensils for snack. We do not supply spoons or forks.
