Clark's Corner
Welcome back to school parents and students. Seeing the students come back to school and get ready for their first days, has brought the same excitement that I see in my own children when they get their fresh box of crayons, new pens and pencils, and brand new backpack with all the extra pockets. As a parent, I have enjoyed preparing my children for school with all of the essentials, as an Assistant Principal I spent some time with your children going over the essentials here at Carleton during our grade level meetings. Below you will find a short list of important information that we reviewed during those meetings, please take some time to discuss the expectations at Carleton and what they mean for your son or daughter at home.
Grade Level Meeting Key Points
1. Coming to school everyday is your student's full time job, it is important to be on time and dress appropriately for work.
2. It is important for everyone to be safe in the hallways, walk two to three across and stay to the right.
3. Cell phones should not be out in school except for at times designated by the teacher. When not in use please have phones off and away.
4. Remember, when your child is using their phone, computer, or tablet at home, what they type and say is permanent, their digital footprint is permanent and can be captured and recorded. Please remind them of this often.
5. The busses are a privilege, it is vital to behave in a safe and responsible manner while riding them.
6. Failure of two or more classes, or poor behavior in two or more classes will make students ineligible for sports the following card-marking.
While many of the students already know and abide by these rules, it is important to review them so that all the students can have a safe and successful school year.
