He died on October 24, Stamford,CT. He was the The first African American to play in a major league in baseball.He was number 42 in the Brooklyn dodgers team. Jackie played many position like infielder, Second baseman, Running back, Shortstop. He retired when he was traded to the New York Yankees. His success in the major leagues opened many doors for other African-American players, such as Satchel Paige, Willie Mays, and Hank Aaron.
