Learning the Circulatory System
General Information
The heart is a muscle and circulation is a pumping mechanism. Circulatory system is the powerhouse of all the systems, without a heart you would not exist. Blood is a specific organic liquid that streams inside the body which carries supplements and minerals to make the body strong. It also carries oxygen to cells and carries wastes like carbon dioxide and urea away. Internally the heart divides into four important chambers; the right and left atriums, and ventricles. Aorta is the biggest artery.
The circulatory system is based on major structures like the heart, blood vessels(arteries, capillaries, veins), and blood related things.
Blood is the fluid of life, growth, and health, by transporting oxygen cleansing our body by eliminating and wastes, and adding nourishing nutrients with interaction of all of the body systems. The key role is the circulatory system.
superior and inferior vena cava are the largest veins in the body
platelets causes the blood to clot on the wounds to prevent blood loss
Plasma being the primary competent in blood, makes up 55% of its overall content.blood plasma is a light yellow liquid, containing mostly water but also transporting (nutrients, enzymes, and salt.)
Function
Interactions
Respiratory system-The circulatory system contains many arteries, valves, and veins. Some of them are pulmonary; meaning they interact with lungs. The circulatory and respiratory system are very connected, although all systems bond with the almighty circulatory system but the respiratory system interacts the most. The respiratory system exchanges oxygen and carbon dioxide and the circulatory system transports these gases through the bloodstream.
Nervous system- The brain works to send signals to the heart telling it when to beat.
Digestive system- The circulatory and digestive system begin interacting at the transfer of food particles, this happens in the small intestine-villi; that contain a network of capillaries. The capillaries transport nutrients, and minerals into the bloodstream for the cells and strengthen bones. The digestive system affects a persons health and heart. Smoking and a poor diet can lead to weak/blocked arteries, or high cholesterol that cause many deadly long term diseases.
Muscular system- The heart is a muscle it pumps and contracts to produce blood.
Skeletal/Immune system- This system has bone marrow which produces red and white blood cells that help fight disease and carry oxygen in the blood stream. The immune system also produces white blood cells and antibodies that prevent and remove infections to keep the body healthy.
Endocrine system- Majorly producing hormones, this system uses the help of the circulatory system to travel in the body. A prime example would be adrenaline, causes the heart to beat faster and stay alert.
