Principal Post
January 15, 2023
Join us tonight for the Living Stations!
We had a great week that ended with our first graders leading us in mass on Friday morning. People often ask how our junior high students are so poised and able to speak in public. I attribute this comfort level to the many years of speaking at mass and other school events beginning in our primary grades. A special thank you to Mrs. Spinazze who prepares our primary students for their parts at mass.
Below you will find information on our Parish Mission. We hope that you can join us for this next weekend as we continue our journey through the season of Lent.
This weekend was busy with competitions including Power of the Pen at Baldwin Wallace and the Lorain County spelling bee. Congratulations to all of the junior high students involved in these events. Next weekend our 5th and 6th grade Science Olympiad teams will compete at John Carroll University.
Finally, a reminder to register for grandparent's day by this Thursday. The RSVP is below. This is for grades K-3. Also a reminder that we do not have school this Friday, March 17th.
Warmly,
Kim Kuchta
EdChoice Scholarship Information- please make your voice heard!
Please see the information below from Dr. Frank O'Linn, Superintendent of Schools. To give some background on this, currently the EdChoice Scholarship is limited to jurisdiction and income.
This bill opens this scholarship to every student in Ohio which is a game changer for anyone attending a Catholic elementary or high school. Please click on the link below so that your voice can be heard.
Important information from the Diocese of Cleveland Superintendent:
The "Parent Educational Freedom Act" is in Ohio’s Senate Education Committee, and now is the time to let your voice be heard. Use this link from the Catholic Conference of Ohio to contact your Ohio Senator: https://www.votervoice.net/OHCATHOLIC/Campaigns/101143/Respond.
Brief Summary:
S.B. 11, the “Parent Educational Freedom Act,” calls for every Ohio student to be eligible for $5,500 for grades K-8, and $7,500 for grades 9-12, to be used at any chartered non-public school that accepts the EdChoice scholarships.
This enables the state’s education funding formula to support students where their parents want them to attend.
All local taxes still stay with the local public district, even if they have fewer students to educate. The scholarships are funded only by the state’s share of the funding formula, which is supported by all of our taxes.
The bill also increases the homeschooling expenses that a taxpayer can claim for an income tax credit from $250 to $2,000 a year.

Angel Scholarship Distribution Information
Dear Holy Trinity Families,
Thank you again to all who donated to the Angel Scholarship. Your contributions made Holy Trinity School one of the top ten in donations in the Diocese of Cleveland. As a result, we now have over $125,000 available for tuition assistance for the 2023-2024 school year. The funds will be distributed in October of 2023 to offset the cost of tuition for next school year.
There are three steps involved in this process:
Complete and return the Angel Scholarship application that is attached. Please scan and email to finance@htsavon.org.
Complete the application for Diocesan Tuition Assistance through FACTS. https://online.factsmgt.com/aid
Please note: Application and the completion of the DTA are due April 15th. Applications submitted after this date will not be accepted.
Please note that we can only distribute funds to those who apply so please take the time to complete the application so that we can help as many families as we can.
If you have questions about the process please contact Kim Kuchta in the school office or Colleen Stalla at finance@htsavon.org.
