Dear Parents and Guardians,
Please note that school is closed on Tuesday, March 5th due to the Presidential Primary Election.
As Grade 8 students prepare to transition to high school, selected 8th graders will be participating in a fly-up to Quincy High School's Performing Arts Program on Monday, March 4th. As we begin the process of high school scheduling, information about Grade 8 Course Selection Information Night can also be found in the flyer below. This week, selected 8th graders will also be participating in the Grade 8 NAEP Testing on Thursday, March 7th. (Testing was rescheduled from our snow day on February 13th.)
The Boston Celtics and The Arbella Foundation continue to support our All-Star Program and its initiative in which students receive incentives for perfect attendance. The All-Star Program Writing and Art Contest submissions are due on Thursday, March 7th at 11:59 pm. Please see information below regarding the All-Star Program and details on submitting your child's art or writing piece.
MCAS Testing begins this month at Point Webster. This Friday, March 8th all students will need their QPS chrome books to be charged and brought to school for a school-wide MCAS practice test. If your child does not have a QPS chrome book, please contact me. Please see below for this year's MCAS Testing Schedule.
In addition, our PTO Movie Night will take place on Friday, March 8th at 6 pm. The cost is $5 per student and the PTO is looking for parent volunteers as well as donations for food to be sold that evening. Please see the flyers below.
Lastly, Point Webster as well as the Quincy Public Schools will be addressing chronic absenteeism with an accelerated academy which will be inviting students to school each Saturday starting Saturday, March 9th from 9 am - 1 pm. The Accelerated Academy at Point Webster will be utilized to assist our students with making up missed time and classwork due to absences from school.
Sincerely,

STMath Update
Dear Parents, Guardians and Caregivers,
As we look at the second half of the year and students’ progress on their ST Math Journeys, we are inviting students to login to ST Math at home as part of their weekly math practice. Research has shown that for students to benefit from their work in ST Math they need to complete at least 80% of their grade-level journey by the end of the school year. We are working with students to set incremental goals and monitor their progress as they go!
Our school-wide goal is for all students to reach 50% by the end of February.
Parents, Guardians and Caregivers in grades 5 and 6 should have received an email last week updating you on your student's progress.
March Mathness
Students will be receiving information about our upcoming March Mathness Contest.
