Happy Women's History Month
Greetings Yellow Jacket Families!
Welcome to March! I am excited to celebrate Women's History Month. This is a special time for us to honor and recognize the incredible contributions and achievements of women throughout history and in our present day.
As a women in leadership, I am committed to creating an environment where all students feel empowered to reach their full potential, regardless of gender. Women's History Month provides us with an opportunity to reflect on the progress that has been made towards gender equality, while also acknowledging the work that still needs to be done.
Throughout the month, our school will be hosting a variety of activities and events to celebrate Women's History Month. These may include guest speakers, classroom discussions, and special projects focused on the accomplishments of women in various fields such as science, literature, politics, and the arts.
I encourage all of our students to actively participate in these activities and to take this opportunity to learn more about the contributions of women to society. By educating ourselves about the struggles and triumphs of women throughout history, we can better appreciate the importance of gender equality and work towards creating a more inclusive and equitable world for all.
Moving forward, if you are called by administration or security to pick up your son/daughter due to an incident, only the parent/guardian of record will be permitted in the building for the administrative conference and pick up. By working together, we can help ensure a safe and healthy learning environment for all.
If you have any concerns, please reach me by email at naima.vinson@pgcps.org. Follow me on Twitter @GPHS_PrinHopVin, and join the band app .
Thank you for your support in celebrating Women's History Month at our school. Together, we can inspire the next generation of leaders and change-makers to continue breaking barriers and making history.
Your Purposeful Principal,
Naima Hopkins-Vinson

Cell Phone/Mobile Device Request
While mobile phones continue to be useful tools in education, they have also become a harmful distraction for many teenage learners during the school day. We are asking all parents to help by exploring ways of implementing parental controls on student mobile devices during school hours. We also ask that you have regular conversations with your children about responsible usage of mobile devices and social media. We will be having ongoing conversations with the community about this throughout the year to promote a safe and healthy learning environment for all.
Please note that TEACHERS ARE PERMITTED TO HAVE NO CELL PHONE POLICIES IN THEIR CLASSROOMS, and students must adhere to these classroom rules.
