RtI Meetings
Here are a few reminders...
1) Be prepared to discuss all your learners in Tier 2 and 3. Bring your lesson plans, interventions, and the response to the intervention. At the District RtI meeting I attended this week, we discussed the format of the intervention plans used with learners in the Tier process. They need to include the following:
- Date
- Time of Intervention (minutes)
- Specific skill worked on and intervention used
- Response to the Intervention/Notes on Progress
2) As discussed in last week's SMORE, please bring your universal screener data.
3) In order for a learner to move from Tier 1 to Tier 2, the following steps must be followed and discussed in committee with a Tier 1 Learner Data Form previously completed by the referring educator: http://tinyurl.com/Tier-1-Learner-Data-Form
An instructional/behavioral fidelity check must be conducted and discussed in committee. Additionally, it must be assured that any current IEP/504 plan is being implemented appropriately. http://tinyurl.com/Tier-1-ELA-Fidelity-Check
(Renee and Christina can help with this fidelity check)
At least 4 data sources (e.g. screener score, classroom assessment, direct observations) that demonstrate an area of deficit.
Educators will communicate with parents regarding progress of their learner through written communication.
As always, additional information on specifics of the Tiers can be found in the RtI folder of the Intervention Public Services Folder.
Please check here or see Mary if you have questions.
ESL and GT Reminder
Also, be sure to update your green GTI folders for all of your GT learns for the 1st 9 weeks.
If you need assistance with this, be sure to see Jennifer or Carol.

ELA TEA Survey
The Texas Education Agency (TEA) and the Meadows Center for Preventing Educational Risk (MCPER) are conducting a survey to learn more about teachers’ perspectives on the literacy development of all learners and preferences for professional development.
The information gathered will guide development of training modules and classroom resources designed to assist teachers in the transition from state assessments based on modified standards to the general state assessment, the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR®). More information on this initiative is available at Targeting the 2 Percent.
Educators who work with students in grades kindergarten–5 are invited to complete the short survey atwww.survey.utexas.edu/tea.

PBL from Deana
Project Based Learning
Campuses utilizing the PBL design model as a part of UbD might be interested in a series of Google Hangouts brought to you by the Buck Institute. A recorded version of each Hangout will be available to those that miss them. This might be a opportunity for flex hours for staff members at PBL campuses.

DLC Data Collection
The DLCs have been charged with collecting data for a district planning initiative; therefore, I must meet with each grade level for 5-10 minutes and collect the data. I would like to start next week if possible. Please let me know if either of the dates—during your planning period-- below works for your team. (I will try to get the support staff team together in small groups.)
- Tuesday, November 17th
- Wednesday, November 18th
Reflector2
Reflector2, the tool that allows you to project from your iPad, is installed on your presentation station. If you are ready to access this awesome tool, please put in a zendesk ticket for Danny to come by and make sure everything is set up in the correct “ports”. Once that is done, I will come by and show you how to use it if you like!
