Help Us Reach Our Goal of 97% Attendance for the Month of November!
ATTENDING SCHOOL MATTERS!
Our strongest push for ATTENDANCE is for October and November, as these months are our ADA funding months. Our goal is 97% ADA. Currently, we are lingering around 95% ADA, and we need YOUR HELP! National-level research has found that students who miss even just 9 days of the school year have lower grades and score lower on standardized tests.
Follow these tips for improving your child's attendance:
- Set a regular bedtime.
- Prep clothes and backpacks the night before.
- Only keep children home if they are truly sick.
- Have a back-up plan for getting to school on time.
- Avoid scheduling doctor’s appointments and trips during school hours.
Please help us by getting your child to school on time and at school each school day!

Gingerbread Day Fun in Kindergarten
Students created gingerbread houses using gumdrops and toothpicks. They read, sequenced, and drew characters from the story The Gingerbread Man. They even made a fun gingerbread house snack. Friday Special Snack Day is always filled with interactive and engaging learning!

Don't forget to take advantage of FREE homework help for your child in Grades 3-5, 24/7 with PAPER, an online tutoring program.
If you ever need help with your school work, there’s a live tutor available to help you 24/7 on Paper, if your child is enrolled in grades 3-5.
Available anytime, anywhere, no matter what you’re working on, you’ll be able to connect with an expert tutor instantly. These are real people who are friendly, approachable, and want to help you succeed. To learn more about Paper and how you can get started, visit the MDE + Paper Website and check out the student resources.
To get started with a tutoring session all you have to do is log in, ask your question, and they’ll give you a helping hand. To login:
Type your school’s name
Log in via Google using your school credentials
Once you let a tutor know what you’re working on, you can expect them to ask you questions about what you’ve tried, what you understand, what you don’t understand, and from there they’ll talk you through the steps. Paper is a place for you to improve, and that doesn’t happen when you just look up answers.
If you have any questions about your account, please ask your teacher.

School Hours & Arrival/Departure Times
School is in session from 7:28 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
ARRIVAL: The earliest students may begin arriving on campus is 7:00 a.m.; once on campus, students will go to the cafeteria to get breakfast or report directly to the classroom. This year, there will be a charge for breakfasts and lunches to students. Please complete an application for Free/Reduced Lunch. We will send these forms home with students. We encourage you to have your child get a breakfast since breakfast is such an important meal for our students. Our cafeteria crew provides a delicious breakfast!
IMPORTANT: All outside building doors are shut and locked at 7:28 a.m.; after this time, a student MUST be signed into the front office by an adult.
Announcements will begin promptly at 7:30 a.m. Students are tardy if they are not in the building by 7:28 a.m. AND seated in their respective classrooms by 7:30 a.m. We strongly encourage all students to be seated and ready to learn by 7:30 a.m. so as not to miss important information during announcements and not to disrupt others from listening as well.
DEPARTURE:
We dismiss kindergarten and first-grade car riders (those who do not have older siblings) to the front porch shortly before 2:30 p.m. If a student is not picked up by 2:45 p.m., he/she will be escorted by staff to School Plus, our after-school program. There is a charge for School Plus.
Transportation Changes & Student Checkouts--Here Are the Procedures to Follow--
We do not allow student checkouts after 2:00 p.m. Please understand that parents who enter the office after 2:00 p.m. requesting to check out their child or children will be asked to get back into the carline for student pick-up. We also do not take checkouts over the phone to have students waiting for the parent to arrive in the office. Students are called to the office for checkouts only if an approved adult is present in the office BEFORE 2:00 p.m. to check them out. We thank you for your cooperation in helping us protect instructional time.
