The Sophomore Spirit
Team 2021
IStep Part 1 Testing Ahead
All sophomore students will soon be taking the Math and English state-required ISTEP Part 1 test. Due to the large number of students in the sophomore class as well as the construction impact on available facilities, we will be testing in sections and rotating testing times/dates to avoid pulling students from the same class multiple days. Your child will receive information about his/her specific testing times as the dates approach. We will all be working to communicate with students so they know where to go and feel prepared for the exams.
The spring ISTEP test consists of two sections, and the first round will begin on Tuesday, March 5th and run through Friday, March 15th. While students will not test every day during this window, it is imperative that they are in attendance at school during this time. Please avoid appointments during the school day whenever possible and help ensure that your child eats a good breakfast and gets a good night’s sleep.

Scheduling Update
Thank you all for helping to ensure your teens made their course requests for next year in PowerSchool. It is certainly a team effort and your support is much appreciated.
Mrs. Mehrtens has now met with all Team 2021 students to review course requests, and she also provided them with a copy of their current transcripts. It is important to know that though transcripts are being built through senior year, colleges initially see Freshman, Sophomore, and Junior information when students apply.
Important Dates:
- All changes to course requests are due by March 15th for a guaranteed changed. There are purple forms in the team office for students to use to request changes.
- Requests made between March 16th and May 1st will be dependent on course availability.
- Changes will NOT be made after May 1st including Summer and the beginning of next year.
