Red, Blue and YOU Day-Let's Celebrate our Community Heroes
American Education Week-Message from Superintendent J. Alvin Wilbanks
American Education Week—Nov. 16-20, 2020—presents us with a wonderful opportunity to celebrate public education and honor individuals who are making a difference in ensuring that every child receives a quality education. Please take this time to thank and salute our GCPS team—those at the local schools and at the district level—who have shined this past year as they have served the children of Gwinnett County.
Below you will find links to Mr. Wilbanks' American Education Week message. We encourage you to share this message within your school communities, thanking our teachers, support staff, students, families, and communities for the way they have come together this past year to support our students and public education.

As you know we live in a great community and we love our school! Recently, the community leaders who organize the Red, Blue, and You event reached out to the school district. Each year, they honor those on the frontlines who serve our community… typically, it involves individuals who are first responders. This year, they are expanding their list of “community heroes” and wish to say thank you to our school staff—especially our teachers!
We will place red and blue bows in front of our school in recognition and thanks for all that our school staff members have done during this difficult time.
Thursday, November 19, is the day this is being celebrated so be sure to wear red and blue to show your appreciation to our community HEROES! I know our teachers would appreciate a special note or email.
