What's New?
- Due to safety concerns, football is forbidden during TLC.
SEarCH representatives will be visiting Spring Hill on Tuesday, January 31st. They will host an Open House Drop-In for rising 9th grade students and their parents on Thursday February 2, from 4-6pm. This is a drop-in event for parents to have questions answered and tour the campus. Teachers are asked to take their students to the gym after 4th block.
General Reminders
- M.O.V.E., P.I.N.K., and the Art Club will be sponsoring the Sweetheart Ball on Friday, February 10.
Dental Forms have been placed in your boxes. Please have students return the forms to the school nurse (ASAP).
If you are interested in participating in the "Biggest Loser" weight loss competition, please let Nurse Mears know. Entry fee is $5.00 and would like to have a minimum of at least 10 participants. Winning results will be based on overall percentage of weight that is lost (not in pounds.)
TEACHERS: Please make sure you monitor students during bathroom time. It has been reported that students are throwing paper towels, biscuits, milk and orange juice cartons in the toilets. Our custodial staff works hard keeping things tidy and clean around our campus.

MEDIA CENTER HAPPENINGS
- On February 8th and 15th, the Battle of the Books team will participate in a “Skype” Battle in the Media Center from 1:30-2:30. Please allow these students time out of class to participate with the understanding that they will make up any work that they miss.
- Check out the following link to find ways to use the upcoming Super Bowl for instruction in various subjects: https://www.middleweb.com/20198/teach-media-literacy-super-bowl-ads/
- Many students have asked about their AR goals for the 3rd nine weeks, so I have set them for all ELA classes. I ran the latest report and put in your mailboxes on Friday. Please look over this information and adjust as you see fit. These goals were based on the minimum requirement of 30 minutes of daily reading for this grading period which ends on March 30th. You know your students best, so if they are capable of more, feel free to change them. If you don’t know how to adjust goals, let me know and I’ll be happy to help.
