In April’s “Inspiring Moments” video, some of our current Kindergarten students provide some advice as you prepare to register your little one for their next big adventure.

AHS PATRIETTES 2024 SPRING SHOW, APRIL 19 & 20
The Atascocita Patriettes Dance Team's annual spring show is 7 p.m. on Friday, April 19, and 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 20 at 5 p.m. in the AHS PAC. Tickets can be purchased online.

PARENT U: NEURODIVERSITY, APRIL 25
Neurodiversity: Thursday, April 25 / 6 - 7pm / BBTC (Room 300), 20200 Eastway Village Drive in Humble Neurodiversity can mean different things to different people, in this training we will explore brain development, prefrontal cortex development, and gain understanding in interacting with others. We will expand on brain and body connections and provide tools for parents, staff, and community members to utilize with their students and themselves to increase neuroplasticity. The Humble ISD Counseling and Wellness Team will be presenting this Parent U in person. This team is led by Denise Toro, M.Ed.
GOLD FIGHT WIN T-SHIRT DESIGN CONTEST
Humble ISD students are invited to submit an original design for the 2024 Gold Fight Win T-shirt for a chance to win prizes and recognition. Entries accepted April 15 - April 26.
- Must be original artwork by a current Humble ISD student
- Must use 3 colors or less and will print on gold shirt
- Must use the words “GOLD FIGHT WIN”

MOTHERS AGAINST CANCER
Mothers Against Cancer, a non-profit made up of volunteers from the Kingwood and Lake Houston area, provides support to families who have been affected with a child diagnosed with cancer. If your family has been affected by childhood cancer and you would like to contact Mothers Against Cancer, please email Isagould7@gmail.com.
CINCO DE MAYO Childhood Cancer Family Picnic
Mothers Against Cancer is hosting a Childhood Cancer Family Picnic from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 5, at Sand Creek Village Park, 3021 Timber Shade Drive in Kingwood. There will be food, games, music and art.
KINGWOOD OPEN HOUSE, APRIL 25
Harris County Precinct 3 Commissioner Tom Ramsey's Office is hosting an open house to learn how local officials are improving infrastructure in the Kingwood community. The event is from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 25, at Kingwood High School, 2701 Kingwood Drive.
Representatives will be available from:

HUMBLE ISD BOOTS & BLING GALA, APRIL 26
Get ready to lasso up some excitement for our Boots and Bling Gala! Join us for some axe throwing, bull riding, karaoke, cornhole, and a whole lot of Western fun. Grab your hats and boots, and get ready to hit the dance floor for some boot scootin'.
And the excitement doesn't end there! The highlight of the night is when the top 10 finalists for Humble ISD Teacher of the Year take the stage, and the winners are announced.
Now, this celebration isn't just about fun (although there'll be plenty of that). It's also a chance to support Humble ISD classroom projects. Your participation helps us raise funds to turn innovative classroom dreams into a reality.

DISTRICT TEACHER OF THE YEAR FINALISTS NAMED FOR 2024-2025
Finalists were selected by the District Teacher of the Year Selection Committee based upon written application materials and will interview with the committee. During the Humble ISD Education Foundation Boots & Bling fundraising event on April 26, one of the finalists will be announced as Elementary Teacher of the Year and one will be announced as Secondary Teacher of the Year. WEST LAKE DANCE HOLLYWOOD SPRING SHOW, APRIL 27
The West Lake Dance Department invites the community to a Hollywood Spring Show, a fundraiser benefiting the West Lake Luminaires dance team, at 2:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m., on Saturday, April 27 at West Lake Middle School. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased online. There will be concessions for sale at the door.

FOSTER ELEMENTARY COMMEMORATIVE ORNAMENTS, ORDER BY APRIL 30
Foster Elementary commemorative ornaments are available online to purchase now through April 30. The original artwork, created by Foster Elementary art teacher Julie Gallow, features the bulldog mural and the front of the 53 year old campus.
Foster Elementary is set to be rebuilt over the next two years and be ready to reopen for the 2026-2027 school year with a brand new building in its current location.
HUMBLE ISD ASK AN EXPERT PODCAST - BBQ TEAM AT SCHS
In episode 11 of Ask an Expert, Ms. Samantha Guajardo, the Agriculture Science Teacher at Summer Creek High School, and Summer Creek High School senior Diego Rodriguez, tell us about the school's BBQ team and the local and state-wide competitions the team has participated in since its formation.

HUMBLE ISD FINE ARTS FESTIVAL, MAY 4
The 21st Annual Humble ISD Fine Arts Festival is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 4, at Lonestar College - Kingwood, 20000 Kingwood Drive.
Enjoy free family fun, including an artisan's market, creation stations, student art exhibits, elementary music performances and food concessions.
FINE ARTS FESTIVAL ARTISAN'S MARKET
The Artisan Market will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. during the Fine Arts Festival. Come be a part of the Humble ISD the Fine Arts Festival Artisan's Market! Space is limited - An 8 x 8 ft. space is $50. Local artisans and Humble ISD students will be offering unique art and hand crafted items for sale.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Need Service Hours? Volunteer for a 2-hour shift at the Fine Arts Festival.
Volunteers help set-up, take-down, and run art booths along with other various festival needs. Shifts are available for set-up on Friday, as well as during Festival hours on Saturday.

HUMBLE ISD OUTDOOR PLAY & FITNESS AREAS
Humble ISD is reinvesting in the community by adding immersive, imaginatively-themed playgrounds at all elementary schools, and outdoor obstacle and fitness courses at secondary schools. Outdoor equipment is open to the public on elementary and middle school campuses when school is not in session. All are built on handicap-accessible, poured-in-place rubber surfaces, with fall protection.
