Thunder Post!
April 19, 2024
As the Head of School, community engagement is a responsibility of mine. I admit it's taken me longer than expected to start getting out in the community, but I've begun. I've attended Chamber of Commerce events in the past two months and plan to become more involved.
Most importantly, I've been reaching out to local church pastors. Did you realize we represent 28 churches at CCS? It's been a pleasure to talk with them. During these visits, I highlight that CCS offers a 50% tuition discount to the children of full-time pastors to show our gratitude for their dedicated service. We also offer this discount to full-time missionaries. Often, these missionaries are on a sabbatical back home and need a place to send their children for a year.
If you'd like me to visit your pastor, just let me know, and I'll schedule a visit. Or perhaps you'd like to inform your pastor(s) about the tuition discount CCS offers. We have information packets available for you to take along.
Let's take this week to thank our church leaders and missionaries and let them know they're appreciated.

SPRING MUSIC CONCERT AND ART GALLERY
We are one week away!
With all of the extra practices coming up, it must be concert week ... and with all of the matting of art projects, it must be time for our art gallery night! You do not want to miss this night of music, art, and fundraising! Our concert will begin at 6:30, with the art gallery and fundraiser following directly after.
Our silent auction fundraiser website can be found here. Click on CATALOG to see the items that will be available to bid on the evening of the event, then click on each item for a full description. New items are being added daily!
Proceeds from our fundraiser will benefit the art department, technology safety upgrades, and preschool cots and trikes.
We are still in need of cookies for our dessert charcuterie board. Please sign-up here if you can donate cookies for this event! Please bring them into the school office by Thursday, April 25th.
Thank you for your help with this!

MILEAGE CLUB
If you're wondering what your student did during recess this week, the answer is ... they ran!
As of this morning students K-8 have run a total of 536.25 miles!
Our second grade class is leading the pack with a total of 116.25 miles!
During chapel today (by-the-way...5th grade did a great job hosting chapel)) 48 students received toe tokens because they reached the first goal of 5 miles. Of the 48, two students received TWO toe tokens because they ran over 10 miles. Going forward, students will receive a toe token for every 5 miles they run.
Be sure to check out the display on the library window to see the progress that's being made from day to day!
AROUND CCS
Our 5th grade students hosted our elementary chapel today ... complete with a campfire, campfire songs, and s'mores!
What a terrific job they did!
