Dr. Isett's Weekly Message
Week of April 15th, 2024
Dear Colts Families,
Dear Colts Families,
As we approach the start of state testing next week, we want to emphasize the importance of preparation and well-being for our students. Please ensure that your Colts are getting plenty of rest and eating nutritious snacks to help them perform their best during these assessments. Our dedicated teachers have been providing additional support and resources to ensure our Colts feel confident and ready for these important state tests.
We're thrilled to announce that on Friday, April 19th, our exceptional Tier 1 Team will host a rally to remind our Colts about the significance of these state tests. We extend our deepest gratitude to our Tier 1 team for their dedication to our students' success and for their efforts in reinforcing best testing practices.
Furthermore, our Tier 2 team will be meeting with Colts who are currently below a 2.0 this week, offering them additional guidance and support to help them finish the school year on a strong note. We're committed to providing every student with the resources they need to thrive academically and personally.
Lastly, we kindly ask Colts families to remind their children about the importance of showing compassion towards one another. Compassion is a cornerstone of our COLTS Way, and we believe it's essential for creating a safe and supportive learning environment. Whether in the hallways, classrooms, virtual spaces, or lunch areas, we encourage all Colts to practice kindness and courtesy towards their peers.
We deeply appreciate the support of our parents as we work together to instill these important values in our students. Thank you for your continued partnership in fostering a positive school community.
Warm regards,
Eva Isett, Ed. D.
Principal
Counseling Focus: April in honor of Earth Day
We are continuing to focus on social awareness and Earth Month which is a great time to raise awareness and take action to protect our planet.
For teens, there are plenty of ways to get involved and make a difference:
Educate Yourself: Take the time to learn about environmental issues such as climate change, pollution, deforestation, and endangered species. Understanding the challenges our planet faces is the first step towards making a positive impact.
Reduce, Reuse, Recycle: Encourage your peers and community to adopt sustainable habits like reducing single-use plastics, reusing items whenever possible, and recycling materials like paper, plastic, and glass.
Volunteer: Look for local environmental organizations or community groups that need volunteers. You can participate in beach cleanups, tree plantings, or help with cleaning up your local park.
Spread Awareness: Use your voice and social media platforms to raise awareness about environmental issues and share tips on how others can live more sustainably.
