LET'S CELEBRATE LAST WEEK
ACCESS is officially completed! We tested 93 students in total this year. Our biggest by far!
Congratulations to this year's nominees for the You Are Special Award - Lori Casavant and Maria Dias. Both are so desrving of this award!!
Congratulations to Kelly Roberge, the cast, chorus, and crew of Flat Stanley. The show was incredible!!
Thank you to everyone who participated in and prepared for the Data Chat Meetings! The meetings were reflective of how much teachers and staff in this building know our students as well as the amount of thoughtful and intentional planning that goes into ensuring success for all!

TEACHER FEEDBACK NEEDED
Read Across America week is coming up in the beginning of March. We are again looking forward to celebrating as a school community with some fun dress up days, Dr. Seuss read alouds, and Mystery Readers. Many of you have already volunteered to be a Mystery Reader!
Mrs Last will be doing read alouds and the Mystery Reader Activity during library time with students.
Mr Greenhouse will be working with Student Council to create daily announcements and a video to kick off the celebration. Student Council will also announce our daily Mystery Reader Winners at the end of each day.
We are looking for your input on the dress-up days and also any other activities you'd like to see happen during the week. Let us know your thoughts! We are hoping to send home THIS announcement in the upcoming Notes from the Office, so please respond by Tuesday of this week!
Thanks,
Lauren
FLAT STANLEY
MYSTERY READER
Thank you to everyone who volunteered to be a mystery reader! We had more than enough volunteers. We will randomly pick five and film this week! These videos will be shown during library the week of March 2nd.

MCAS UPDATES
Updated MCAS English Language Arts, Mathematics, and Science and Technology/Engineering practice tests are now posted. Additional materials, including updated answer keys and special forms, will be posted in the coming weeks as they become available.
A graphing practice tool is also now available as an additional resource for grade 10 students. Students can use this tool to graph one or two equations and/or inequalities with corresponding solution sets. The tool is posted at the MCAS Resource Center under Grade 10 Resources.
Updates to TestNav for 2020
Several updates to TestNav are being implemented for spring 2020 MCAS testing. Please see the attached “Updates to TestNav for 2020” and note the following in particular.
- Expandable Panels: The new “expandable panels” functionality allows students to expand the left or right side of the screen to make it easier to read passages and/or write responses. The functionality is available in some ELA items and some items for the next-generation Biology and Physics tests for grade 9.
- Calculators: Certain Mathematics and STE tests will have multiple calculators available for students on TestNav. While students can choose from multiple calculators, it is recommended that students use the calculator they typically use in the classroom.
- Zoom: Students will be able to zoom in to make everything on their screen larger.
- Highlight to Hear in Text-to-Speech: When students with the text-to-speech accommodation select text, a “Listen” button will appear alongside the highlighter options. Students can click this “Listen” button to hear the selected text.
