Bonner's Inspiration
Important Message from Assistant Principal Mrs. Bonner
To Mrs. Fitzgerald, you are the leader's leader. In our short time together, the impact you have made on my development as a leader has been astronomical. I have gained a plethora of knowledge on how to be an effective instructional leader and an advocate for my students and teachers. I am grateful to have crossed paths with each of you along my professional journey and thankful for the lessons we have learned together along the way.
On Eagle wings, I will continue to soar!

Georgia Milestones Resources (gadoe.org)
Please be sure to download the Reading and Evidence-Based Writing Item Set for your grade level and use it to practice with students for the next 11 days. https://www.gadoe.org/Curriculum-Instruction-and-Assessment/Assessment/Pages/Item-Samplers.aspx
PURPOSE OF THE SAMPLER
The purpose of this sampler is to provide a released REBW item set that appeared as operational items in the Georgia Milestones ELA assessment. The extended constructed-response and extended writing-response items each include at least three sample student responses for each score point as well as an annotation explaining why each response received that particular score.
Additional samples of REBW item sets, including those that are in response to different types of passages, are available in the Assessment Guide and Study Guide.
The items in this sampler may be used for classroom instruction purposes.
The samples may be copied, and classroom teachers may find it beneficial to have students respond to one or more of the samples. Teachers can then use the information in this sampler as a guide to scoring responses written by their own students.

Teacher Resource GMAS blueprints for this school year
April is Month of the Military Child - April 19th is Purple Up Day!
In this month all military kids get connected, and each year we celebrate the courage and bravery of all the military children for their marvelous service and huge sacrifices in the U.S and worldwide. The color purple is associated with military activities and/or organizations that include civilians and dependents, such as military children.
In addition, purple also refers to activities and/or organizations that involve multiple branches of the military.
Purple indicates support for all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces through the combination of their colors.
We encourage our military parents to come eat lunch on Purple Up Day with their children, if possible.
Our WCES Chorus will sing the Star Spangled Banner during morning announcements on Purple Up Day!
April is Autism Awareness Month - World Autism Day is Sunday, April 2nd
World Autism Awareness Day (WAAD) aims to put a spotlight on the hurdles that people with autism and others living with autism face every day. As a growing global health issue owing to its increasing exposure in the press and common knowledge, autism is an issue that is only gaining more understanding and WAAD activities are planned every year to further increase and develop world knowledge of children and adults who have autism spectrum disorder (ASD). What’s more, World Autism Awareness Day goes one step further to celebrate the unique talents of those with autism, while putting a huge focus on the warm embrace and welcome that these skills deserve through community events around the globe.
Wear blue or a shirt that supports Autism Awareness on Monday, April 10th.
