News from the Principal's Desk
Our quarter 3 officially ends on Friday, March 22, 2024. That means that Quarter #4 and the final 9 weeks of the school year begins on March 25, 2024! We will be focusing on helping all students academically in the remaining part of the year. Please contact your child's teacher(s) if you are concerned about grades or academic performance.
It is also important to note that the Forward Exam, our statewide assessment for students in grades 5-8, testing window is being scheduled for March and April. Please look for information regarding this assessment to be sent home in a letter via school messenger. This assessment is only being offered in person. There are also testing dates and information below.
If you know your child will be absent during the Wisconsin Forward Exam, please notify the office and your child’s teacher immediately.

Wisconsin Forward Exam
The dates of the assessment are March 19, 2024 - April 9, 2024.
Students will be assessed in Reading, Writing, Math, Science, and Social Studies.
Please look for a specific letter to come home regarding your child's assessment schedule and more information about the actual assessment via School Messenger. Please check your email.

Middle School PBIS Penny War
Advisories from grades 5-8 will be competing against each other to see who can have the highest amount of money in their jar between March 11 - March 27, 2024. The money collected during this time is given directly back to students of our middle school. Some things it may help with: items for our Tackle Box (students can use their PBIS Rewards points they earn to purchase these items), monthly middle school incentive costs, field trip assistance, etc. Thank you for supporting the Middle School PBIS program!
Green Bay Regional Spelling Bee Champion!
Congratluations to 6th Grade student David Sisneros who recently competed in the Green Bay Regional Spelling Bee held at Kewaunee High School on Febraury 13, 2024.
David competed against 24 other spellers from in and around the Green Bay area. David was crowned champion and will now compete at the Wisconsin State Spelling Bee held in Madison, WI at the Mitby Theater on the campus of Madison Area Technical College on March 16, 2024. Congrats David!
Kewaunee Middle School at the Green Bay Blizzard Game!
See the flyer below and order tickets by April 3, 2024! Students get a free ticket with an adult ticket purchase. Adults must attend the game with the student. Cost of an adult ticket is $15.00. Students will participate in a fan tunnel, participate in on field activities, and the National Anthem!
For each ticket purchased, $5.00 will be donated back to Kewaunee Middle School.

Middle School Forensics
On February 29, 2024 Sophia Groff and Caitie Dokey headed to Edison Middle School in Green Bay to compete in a Level 2 Forenscis meet.
Foresnsics is the opportunity to give middle and high school students the opportunity to enhance and refine communication skills, to foster creativity, and to share perspectives in variety of activities.
Both girls have been working very hard to prepare for this meet and did a fantastic job by earning excellence in their categories! Congratulations to both Sophia and Caitie on all their hard work this year. Middle School Forensics is coached by Stephanie Hedsand.
Roller Skating Unit in PE Has Started!
Students in Middle School even have the opportunity to help out with Kindergarten roller skating. Students help get skates on and off, help with balancing, and skate with the kids!
Middle School Math Meet
On February 26, seventeen 7th and 8th grade students participated in the Roncalli Math Competition. They have been practicing since December and did very well!
The team with Nathan Kinstetter, Kyle Staeven, Sam Kraynik, and Dane Harrell took 2nd place.
Nathan Kinstetter took 3rd place in the individual category, and Kyle Staeven took 4th place in the individual category. Great job to everyone who participated!

If your child is interested in Track and Field, please continue to watch for updates via Facebook and sent through School Messenger. We will be looking for a Middle School Tennis coach! Contact the school if you are intestested.
