News from this week
Dear Parents,
The first 9 weeks of school is officially over. Remember there is no school Monday, October 9. This is a teacher workday. Student Progress Reports will be sent home in your child’s Friday Folder on October 13th. They are just an update as to how your child is progressing since our parent conference. Official Report Cards will be sent home in December. You can always access updated grades through your child’s e-class log in or the parent portal.
There are some"No Lunch Visitation" testing days coming up for ITBS. We do not take the ITBS in 4th grade, but our schedules will be different on those days. We thank you in advance for your understanding.
We took our Reading and Math DAs this week. We will be taking DA's in Science and SS next week. Please see the important dates section below as one of the dates has changed.
Reading logs are due every Monday. Please make sure to sign and send in a reading log each week. We have not yet had a week when 100% of our reading logs have been turned in. If we have 100% turned in each quarter, then the students earn free icecream. They may record their content reading of any homework assignments (Reading, Science, Social Studies) as their 20 minutes for the night.
We will be starting a unit in math on factors and multiples. This will be an easier unit than the division and word problems unit if your child knows their multiplication facts. I have games on my e-class page to practice math facts specifically. I also placed a game for factors and multiples for your child to practice. Students should know how to get to these games. If you are looking for additional math practice for your child please visit www.commoncoreworksheets.com.
Morning Math sessions are every Tuesday at 7:15 AM. You do not need to sign up. Just drop your child off at the front doors at 7:15. You can drive right through the bus loop. Please do NOT use the car rider lane on the side of the building. We will be reviewing division and looking at factors and multiples.
Have a great weekend!
Sabine Stoffle

Message from Dr. Barlow
Dear Parent(s) or Guardian(s),
The Gwinnett County Public School System is committed to providing students with the best possible education and school experience. We recognize, however, that there is always room for growth and improvement. An excellent way for us to determine how to improve is by asking you. Your response is especially important because you can help us determine where improvements are needed. Please take a few minutes to complete the RBES Parent Survey located on the Parent Portal from September 25, 2017 through November 3, 2017. If you need a paper copy of the survey in English or Spanish, please notify your child's teacher. Thank you for taking the time to help us with this important survey. Your participation now will help us to provide even better educational experiences in the future.
Sincerely,
Dr. Barlow
Principal
