March Original Update
URGENT! Beginner Solo Piano Rehearsal Schedule
The Beginner Band students (except percussionists) will have their solo rehearsals with their piano accompanist the week prior to and immediately following Spring Break. Because of the availability of our accompanists, some students will have before school rehearsals and some will be after school. You can see the schedule here. If you do not see your student's name on this list, be on the lookout for an email from their beginner class teacher with an explanation.
ACTION REQUIRED - 8th Graders ONLY!
https://forms.gle/8QfBbsra4d5KecnH8
This is for high school band, but does not have to be a definite decision about your future in band. Please fill it out ASAP, no matter where you are going to high school or whether you are choosing to stay in band or not (although we really hope you try it)! I have to keep pestering you about it until it is filled out by everyone - I'll make cookies for the band that has all the 8th graders fill out the form first!

Hawk Select Band
This list of our Beginner Band students have been invited to join the Hawk Select Band this semester. These students are ready for a more rigorous band curriculum and challenge and we are excited to offer that for them this semester. These students have all received a contract with their invitation to join the group. The students who turn in their invitation/contract by this Friday, January 12 will have weekly after school rehearsals on Wednesdays from 4:15-5:15pm. The rehearsals will begin on January 24th and will take place on the following other dates: 1/24, 1/31, 2/14, 2/21, 2/28, 3/6, 3/20, 4/3, 4/10, 4/17, 4/24, 5/1, 5/8. This group will perform together at our spring festival and spring concert.
Please understand that if your student did not receive an invitation to the band this semester, that does NOT mean they are doing poorly in band. This is just a small group and we don't have enough spots available for every student who is ready - we had to make some very difficult choices.
Band Fee Payments
The spring band fee payment for those paying each semester separately is Friday, February 2nd.
The next band fee payment for those on a monthly plan is Friday, March 8th.
Spring Sectional Schedules
Advanced Band sectionals will begin NEXT week (January 15th). Every Advanced Band student will have a before/after school required rehearsal every other week. Pass-offs and playing tests will be given during these sectionals - attendance is mandatory and will be graded. **Percussion sectionals will take place during the school day with Mrs. Manaois.**
