Political facts
Austria has a federal republic type of government. This is a federation of states with a republican form of government. This type of government doesn't have a monarch. The money they had before th Euro was called a schilling. Austria was not a founder of the EU and they joined in 1995. Also they were part of Hungary at one point.
Austria's Flag
Legend has it that Duke Leopold V. Was fighting and his clothes were stained with blood. When he took his belt off it was red, white, red.
Danube River
It is considered as an international waterway. It is the longest river in Austria. It passes through 4 state capitals before emptying into the Black Sea.
Hofburg
This historic landmark was made by many of the Hofburg rulers. Has many museums inside, which attracts even more attention.
