Here Comes the Bus app
The best way to track your bus is to download the Here Comes the Bus app. The FCS transportation page has directions along with contact numbers for transportation questions.
Bus transportation can be frustrating; however, it is an aspect that we don't control. We support our drivers as they do the best that they can.
Afternoon check out
Carpool
Carpool seems to be settling in as our new parents learn the process. Remember to be kind and patient to other parents as well as staff members who are there to assist and ensure the safety of everyone. Pull forward so that we can maximize the number of cars that can unload at a time.
Beginning next week, we will begin to mark carpool students who arrive after 8:55 tardy so please plan your arrival time accordingly and know that there will be traffic to school and a line to enter into the school. We understand that rain causes delays on the road and for carpool. We will extend grace when there is inclement weather.
After a week, our afternoon carpool appears to be settling into a rhythm also. Remember that students who do not locate their car after we begin moving are directed back into the gym for second load. Also, please do not try to pass cars and switch lanes. You will be stopped at the front of the line. It is dangerous and unnecessary as we move all our cars as quickly as we can.

CHANGING YOUR STUDENT’S TRANSPORTATION
Students are assigned a bus based on the primary address in Infinite Campus. To ride any bus other than the assigned bus, you need approval from FCS transportation. Please contact Suzanne Schwitters at north transportation for consideration. schwitterssc@fultonschools.org.
STUDENT CHECK OUT 101
IT’S EASY Most dismissals that occur during the school day are pre-planned and can be a smooth process following these easy steps.
CHECK OUT
1. Write a note outlining the following –who (full name please) you are checking out, why you are checking out, date and time you are checking out, then sign and give a contact number. Also, please note that the latest a student should check out is 3:45 pm. This avoids conflict with buses and carpool drivers arriving for dismissal.
2. Please send the note with your student on the day of the pre-planned early dismissal and have them report to the office upon. The note will be approved and will then serve as a pass out of class at the noted time. Your student is then instructed to report to the front office at your stated time so be sure this accurately represents when you want them to be at the front office.
3. Check out now requires that you scan the QR code on the YELLOW flyer at the front doors with your smartphone camera and complete the ENTIRE questionnaire including, the taking a picture of your ID, then hit SUBMIT. Once approved, ring the bell. 4. If your checking a student out for the remainder of the day for Dr appt please scan and email that Dr. note to CMSfrontoffice@fultonschools.org
CHECK IN
1.Please scan the QR code on the window at the front doors. If you are checking in WITH a Dr note, please see at the bottom of the Check in/out form where you can take a picture of the note to attach to the Check In submission.
2. Once submitted and approved, please ring the bell to show the Approval from the app and direct your student to the office for a pass to class.
ATTENDANCE: PARENTS, SCHOOL, AND AUTOMATION
An ‘automatic phone parent notification’ is generated when any absence is entered by a teacher during the class day. Please submit a virtual note (to cmsfrontoffice@fultonschools.org). You may attach a scan or picture of a Doctor’s excuse to the email for additional documentation. Examples of excusable absences are illness, funeral attendance, and religious observance. The average time from the absence to the correction for an excusable absence is 1-2 days. When you receive this call and if you have already communicated an explanation of the absence, no further action is needed.
Should you wish to confirm that your student’s attendance is accurately logged, you may check Home Access Center a few days after an absence. Simply run your mouse over the day to see more detail. Remember that the beginning of the day starts promptly at 8:55. CMS appreciates your participation in this process to assure maximum instructional time.

Support Huskies Helping Huskies | School Supply Drive & Annual Fund
Huskies Helping Huskies (HHH) is a 501(c)(3) that works with CMS and the PTA to assist students and families in urgent need with school supplies, meals, toiletries, and other unique support. We turn our community's compassion into direct assistance that helps in-need students and their families thrive.
To support these students and families, we invite those who are able to donate to the HHH Annual Fund. Your upfront generosity allows us to better plan for our six distributions throughout the school year, as well as the popular Shop With a Hero holiday event. Visit our website to learn more and be sure to follow us on Facebook or Instagram.
We are still collecting school supplies such as backpacks, pens, markers, pencil pouches, etc. for students in need. See the list for specific requests and drop them off with the front office or have them sent directly via this Walmart Registry.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
