Parent Feedback Needed
The South Carolina Department of Education gathers parent feedback in order to ensure families have a voice in their children’s education and to comply with accountability mandates.
The 2024 Parent and Guardian School Climate Survey is now open in Parent Portal under the Forms tab.
Please fill this survey out before March 28. You may fill this out only one time per student.
Parent Climate Survey results inform decision-making at the school, district, and state level and are included in the school’s annual report card. The Parent Climate Survey is anonymous and confidential and will take about 10-15 minutes to complete.
If you have not registered for Parent Portal, please reach out to Tammy Weiker, Registrar, tweiker@rhmail.org, for your login information. Then follow the directions below to set up your portal.

College and Career Week
Rawlinson Road Middle School's Career Fair took place on Thursday, March 21st. We had over 20 members of the community come and speak with our students about a variety of careers—entrepreneurship, military, banking, manufacturing, and more! The students were very well behaved and looked amazing as they dressed up in their best! We would like to thank everyone who played a part in making this event a success! GO RAIDERS!
Attention parents of rising 9th graders:
We are thrilled to collaborate with our local high schools. JUMP UP Day is scheduled for March 26! JUMP UP Day is intended to help students start getting acclimated to the next level in their educational careers in Rock Hill Schools. Hosting schools will give students basic information about the schedule, extracurricular activities, expectations, as well as answer questions and work to help students feel comfortable and excited about the upcoming transition to high school. Current Virtual Academy students will be invited to participate in the JUMP UP Day at their zoned schools for next year.
Our current eighth grade students will visit the high school in which they are zoned for on March 26, face-to-face. The Jump Up Day will run approximately 9 a.m. until 11 a.m.
Transportation will be provided by the district.
Thank you for ensuring your 8th grader is prepared for the visit by arriving to school on time!

Important Reminders
Laptop update
If your student needs to complete an assignment, parents may request to check-out their students device for up to 5 days (not to exceed 5 consecutive days). If you have any questions, please reach out to the grade level administrator. Laptop check-out request form is below.
Safety Reminder
- As a part of our school's safety plan, and in accordance with Rock Hill School District policy and South Carolina state law, our administrative team will conduct safety screenings to help ensure the safety of all students and faculty. If you have any questions, please call or email Ms. Frazier.
- Also, students are not to share food or snacks with other students. Students may have food allergies or could eat something that could make them sick.
- Students are not allowed to use cell phones on campus during the school day. Students are not to use their device (cell phone/ laptops) to take pictures or record videos of activities while on campus or on district transportation. Students will receive consequences for these behaviors.
- Drugs, drug paraphernalia, or vaping devices do not belong in our schools, and we ask that you join our team’s efforts in keeping our school safe. Join us in this effort by ensuring your child does not have access to drugs, drug paraphernalia, or vaping devices before they come to school.
We’d also like to remind you to speak with your child about our “See Something, Say Something” initiative. If your child sees something or hears something suspicious, alarming, or concerning, please encourage them to notify an adult as soon as possible. Parents and students can also report tips through our tip line at https://www.rock-hill.k12.sc.us/Page/6778 or in our app. We take every tip seriously and investigate them in coordination with our schools and law enforcement.
Thank you all for your continued efforts in keeping each of our children safe this school year.
Athletic Events Expectations
· Communication with coaches is important. If a parent wishes to communicate with a coach, he/she should call the school for an appointment. (Approaching a coach during practice or at the end of a competition is not appropriate while a coach is involved with supervision of students).
· Parents are welcome at all games and matches—and are encouraged to attend. Practices, however, are closed to spectators and guests.
· Spectators may not coach from the stands or sidelines to the degree that it interferes with or distracts players from the directions of the school coach.
· Parents, by their presence at competitive events, are also representatives of the school. The expectation of good sportsmanship and positive public decorum sets a model for our athletes and your children.
· No action on the part of a spectator should repeatedly pull attention from athletic play. If the administrator on site or the school resource officer feels that any action on the part of the spectator contributes to a hostile or unsafe environment, that spectator will be required to leave the athletic event and school grounds. Failure to do so may result in criminal charges.
