Background Information
Impacts within Great Britain during the Industrial Revolution
1. Social Impact
As the industrial revolution became a period of prosperity, the wealthy lords began to push out the smaller farmers fir their great fields causing them to move into urban areas. This resulted in overcrowded cities leading to bad sanitation and health problems as there was increased pollution rates.
2. Economic Impact:
Although the industrial revolution had negative impacts on the people overall, the country began to flourish. Their was an increase of factories which led to mass productions of goods. There were more diverse crops, foods, and livestock. However, the government did have to give money to the states to build sanitation programs for thins such as the water supplies.
3. Political Impact:
During the industrial revolution, there were four acts put into place: the factory acts, mines act, and agricultural gangs act. In 1833, the factory act was meant to improve working conditions for children working in factories. In 1867, the following factory act added on to the previous factory act regulating the amount of time labor was done. In 1842, the mines act stated women and children under 10 were prohibited to work in the mines. Lastly, the agricultural gangs act in 1867 stated no children under 8 or women employed with men were allowed to be in agricultural gangs for safety reasons.
The impact on the World during Industrial Revolution
socially we can see that due acts made regarding the sanitary conditions of factories the mortality rate has decreased a significant amount, because of working conditions being cleaner people aren't getting infections.
2. Economic Impact:
this has helped economically by providing us with more doctors and medicine and equipment to help treat ,diagnose ,and figure out common illnesses. ( which would be the cause of many deaths back then)
3. Political Impact:
we have a lot of safety rules and acts that have been passed to keep people safe and healthier, for example in 1877 Massachusetts passed the nations first factory inspection these are examples of rules passed that politically impacted the world.This relates to the industrial revolution because of all the safety acts sand rules placed it gave us more safer working conditions along with more equipment and medicine for those who are sick.
