Congratulations to Teacher of the Year Mrs. Little!
Mrs. Little, a beacon of education and nurturing mentorship, holds a distinguished career as an elementary school teacher, and is Austin Elementary's Teacher of the Year. With a dedication that spans over three decades, Mrs. Little's impact on her students and community is immeasurable.
Born and raised in the quaint town of Elysian Fields, Texas, Mrs. Little's passion for teaching ignited early in life. After graduating from Elysian Fields High School, she pursued higher education at various esteemed institutions, including Sam Houston State University, Northeast Louisiana University, and The University of Missouri - Columbia, where she honed her skills and knowledge in education.
With a heart committed to serving others, Mrs. Little embarked on her teaching journey, touching the lives of countless students over the years. For 33 years, she has been a pillar of support and guidance, with 7 of those years dedicated to nurturing young minds at Austin Elementary.
Beyond the classroom, Mrs. Little's influence extends to her role as a devoted wife of 42 years to John, and as a loving mother to her grown children, Ashley and Matt. Her family has grown to include five grandchildren – Lainey, Caroline, Weston, Norah, and Caleb – who affectionately know her as "Gigi."
In addition to her professional endeavors, Mrs. Little has dedicated herself to her faith, teaching Sunday School for 17 years, where she continues to inspire and instill values in the hearts of the youth.
Mrs. Little's journey exemplifies unwavering dedication, compassion, and a commitment to lifelong learning. Her impact on her students, family, and community serves as a testament to her remarkable character and enduring legacy.

Ms. Laura is the perfect example of kindness, dedication, and selflessness at Austin Elementary, earning the title of Humanitarian of the Year. As the custodian, she goes above and beyond her duties, ensuring the entire building operates smoothly and remains a safe, clean haven for students and staff alike.
Ms. Laura's is committed to serving others. She is always ready to lend a helping hand and extend a warm smile to anyone in need. Whether it's managing the cafeteria, ensuring classrooms are spotless, or offering a comforting word to a distressed student, Ms. Laura approaches every task with unwavering dedication and care.
Her amazing attention to detail is evident in the excellent condition of the school building, reflecting her unwavering commitment to creating a welcoming environment where students can thrive. Beyond her custodial duties, Ms. Laura's compassionate nature shines through in her interactions with students, staff, and visitors, making everyone feel valued and appreciated.

Ms. Ugarte shines brightly as the Austin Elementary Rising Star Teacher of the Year, embodying a passion for education and a commitment to making a positive impact on her students and campus community. With her infectious enthusiasm and dedication, she has quickly become a cherished member of the school family.
Ms. Ugarte's journey towards becoming an educator was marked by a deep sense of service and a desire to uplift others. Graduating from Conroe High School, she demonstrated her altruistic spirit by volunteering tirelessly with the "Adult Literacy Program," teaching English and computer classes to adults. Her remarkable dedication earned her recognition from the Conroe Independent School District, where she received two scholarships for amassing an impressive 4000 hours of community service.
During her formative years, Ms. Ugarte discovered her calling to become a teacher, recognizing the profound impact she could make in the lives of others. Inspired by the quote, "Those who are happiest are those who do the most for others," she embarked on her educational journey at Lone Star College, where she earned an Associate of Science degree. She then pursued her passion at Sam Houston State University, graduating with a Bachelor's of Science degree in education.
Education runs deep in Ms. Ugarte's family; her mother served as a teacher for 22 years in Mexico and currently works with Newcomer students at Conroe High School. Her father enjoys retirement while doting on his grandchildren, and her brother serves as a United States Marine, working as an electrical engineer. Alongside her supportive family stands her fiancé, who has been her steadfast companion for nine years, offering unwavering encouragement throughout her career.
Ms. Ugarte's journey as a Rising Star Teacher is marked by her unwavering commitment to excellence, her dedication to serving others, and her infectious passion for education. As she continues to inspire and uplift her students, she leaves an indelible mark on Austin Elementary, shaping the future with her boundless enthusiasm and compassionate spirit.

Visitors
Parent lunch visitors are welcome! There is limited space for parent visitors during lunch. Reserve your place to ensure you will be able to eat with your student. Please sign up using the link below. We ask that you limit your visits to no more than twice a week so other parents have the opportunity to schedule times with their students.
Birthdays
- Store bought treats only.
- When bringing birthday treats, please remember they must be left in the front office. The classroom teacher will distribute them at the end of class.
- If you have questions about what is allowed, please call the front office 936-709-8400.
