Mindset Matters!
Each newsletter will have 1 or 2 of the mindsets that are the focus for the week. I will also share here what students in some of our classes are seeing and learning.
Here is a general overview video https://youtu.be/8sOzgIaWaU0 as well as Unit #1- Everything is possible. The first mindset in this unit is "Dream Big!" https://youtu.be/izCc4duhnxA A full parent newsletter with more info and suggestions is attached.
I truly believe in this work and it is needed more than ever in the lives of our teens... but honestly, it is GREAT info for us all! I welcome your feedback. Call me 772-419-5758 or email me ljudd@irsc.edu
Dr. Judd
Every day is a celebration!
Make a Difference Mondays! NHS and Art Club will be hosting their annual create for a cause art show and fundraiser. They need all student artists to submit work. See details on the career cafe and in the Friday newsletter. All money raised will be donated to the Hope Center for Autism. This is your chance to make a difference through art!
Take Care Tuesdays! As submitted by a parent, Did you know that stretching for 5-10 minutes before bedtime each night helps your body and mind shift gears into a more restful sleep.
Way to Go Wednesdays! Shout out to Anisha Arnold for jumping in to help Dr. Judd carry some books to a classroom. Another student did not feel like helping, so Anisha happily assisted.
Thankful Thursdays! Today we want to focus on being grateful for the people who help make our lives better. Stop and think about 3 people who have made you happy this week. If you really want to level up your gratitude, send those 3 a note or tell them you are glad they are in your life!
Fun Fact Fridays! Here is some info about Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. you may not have known. King was born Michael King Jr. on January 15, 1929. In 1934, however, his father, a pastor at Atlanta’s Ebenezer Baptist Church, traveled to Germany and became inspired by the Protestant Reformation leader Martin Luther. As a result, King Sr. changed his own name as well as that of his five-year-old son.
Another fun fact is that King was such a gifted student that he skipped grades nine and 12 before enrolling in 1944 at Morehouse College.
