Return Library Books
Parents,
Our librarian, Mrs. Walker, let us know that there are MANY books overdue. For Spring cleaning, could you please help your student look for any lost books? She would like to ensure that books can be enjoyed by many students for years to come! These need to be returned as soon as possible.
8th Grade Parents - Did you know your child's library books need to be returned or paid for prior to 8th grade graduation for your child to participate? It's SO important to take care of this now.
All library books will be due on May 15th, so the library can begin inventory. Thank you so much!

Pay for ID Tags
Parents,
If students are issued a temporary ID because he/she left it at home, the fee is $1 per tag. Some students have forgotten their ID multiple times, so fees are adding up. We check for IDs for every student in two locations each morning and temporary IDs are issued to those students who do not have theirs. Lanyards are $2, protective sleeves are $1, and a new replacement set (with all items) is $8. Please check your school cash online accounts to make payments as we are no longer accepting cash for these items; they are automatically charged to your child's school cash online. (We do keep a spreadsheet of that if parents ever need to see what dates specifically their student was in need of any of these items.) If your students is an athlete, please reinforce that they must take the ID home in the afternoons by placing that in their backpack instead of locker!
No Cell Phones in the Hallway
Please remind your students that cell phones should be kept in their backpacks when they are transitioning anywhere in the building. This includes going to lunch.
Item Deliveries and Lunches
We are experiencing a huge influx of items being dropped off for students in the front foyer, and front office staff is overwhelmed with allowing entry for each parent that is delivering items to students (lunches, water bottles, homework, IDs, etc). Also, if your student is unaware that you are delivering items for them, we cannot inform them or deliver the item to them. As we settle more into routines, we hope this improves. We do have water fountains available for use and we will issue temporary IDs in the event they forget theirs.
As a reminder, if your student forgets their lunch at home, they will be allowed to charge a meal in the cafeteria to their schoolcafe account (link to the parent portal and schoolcafe is below). **No Doordash or UberEats deliveries are allowed for students. Any food dropped off for a student must be an individual meal for your student only (no extra food or drink for others is allowed). No pizza deliveries are allowed for students.
New State Law and Vaping Communication
Texas House Bill 114 was passed by the Texas legislature last spring and requires school to place students in the District Alternative Education Program (DAEP) any student who is in possession of, uses, sells, gives, or delivers an e-cigarette (or vape) on school grounds or at any school related event. What this means for your student is that if your student has an e-cigarette (even if nothing is in it) on school grounds or at a school related event, he or she will be recommended for a DAEP placement of at least 10 days. Your student is responsible for any item in his or her possession, even if it does not belong to your student. **To note, this means just the device alone will result in DAEP; it does not have to contain any nicotine or THC at all. Please talk to your student about not "holding" anything for anyone, and to guard their backpacks/lunch boxes/possessions at all times. Lockers in pe/athletics must be locked at all times.
**Please see the district letter below for full information**
