Webster Word
February 2019
From the Principal's Desk
Valentine’s Day: Class Valentine’s Parties will be held on February 14 th at 2:15-3:00 p.m. Parents, please plan on going to your child’s classroom no earlier than 2:00 p.m. to prepare for the party. If you have items from local florists delivered to your child at school, please remember that balloons and glass are NOT allowed on the bus.
School Attendance: The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education expects 90% of our students to be at school 90% of the time. Please do all you can to help us achieve this goal! That means that your child should not miss more than 4 days per quarter. Every minute, every hour and every day counts. At Webster students are considered tardy after 8:25 a.m. and if they are picked up early, every minute counts against their attendance. We understand that kids get sick; please do NOT send them when they are sick. However, if students are well, please make every effort to have them here
every minute possible.

7 Habits Update: Habits 6 & 7
In the month of February our Leader In Me focus will be on Habits 6 and 7. Habit 6 is all about synergy. Together is better! When we value synergy we value other people’s strengths and learn from them. It’s all about getting along with others, even those who are different than us. It’s important to learn to work well in groups and be humble. We know that by working together as a team we can get more done and come up with better solutions than we ever could alone!
Habit 7 is all about Sharpening the Saw. Balance Feels Best! We learn to take care of our bodies by eating right, exercising and getting sleep. We learn to find meaningful ways to help others and spend time with family and friends. We know that learning happens in lots of ways and places, not just at school. We choose to balance our time between school, church, extracurricular activities, family and friends. It’s all about learning how to become a better person!
