Mid Year Data- Testing, Attendance, and Behavior
In the testing data, you will see that our scores across all grade levels assessed in science are well above the national norm. In reading and in math we are at (within standard deviation) or above the national norm in all grade levels assessed.
The data on our assessments correlates to our data on attendance. The grade levels where we see the least amounts of growth we see the highest number of absences. Math progress, in particular, will suffer if a student misses out on pieces of instruction as so many math skills build on each other. In grades kindergarten through six we have a total of 188 absences/tardies with 117 students. In grade 7, we have 148 absences/tardies with 21 students. Attendance matters. In some cases, I am required to report excessive absences to the Circuit Court of Sheboygan County.
The behavior data graph shows the number of reported misbehaviors for each week of the school year to this point. While the data in purple (issues regarding responsibility and respect) shows ups and downs throughout the year, there is an obvious decline overall. The yellow line shows reports of positive, resilience behaviors that stood out to staff.
If you have questions or concerns regarding your child's progress in academics or behavior, please take the time to schedule a parent-teacher conference on February 13 with your child's teacher.

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Mane Event 2020
What is Mane Event?
The Mane Event is one of our school's largest fundraisers. We have a dinner, cash bar, silent auction and live auction. Each year there is a different theme. This years’ theme is Now and Then, taking a look back at all the school’s history. We will be introducing a VIP Whiskey Bar which will include chair massages and specialty hors d’oeuvres and desserts. There will also be a live band, beer/wine tasting and all-you-can eat buffet for all!
When is Mane Event?
In Seton Cafeteria on Saturday March 14 th from 5pm-10pm
Can I help without being in charge of something?
Of course! We have quite a few volunteers who are only available to help behind the scenes. Whether it is a few hours of volunteer time or just one day, we are very appreciative.
Do I have to attend the meetings to help?
No. However, attending the meetings can help if you decide to take on a larger role, but even then is not always necessary. A lot of our communication is done through email, phone calls/text or even catching up at drop off and pick up.
Who do I contact if I want to help?
Natalie Kohlhagen – natalie.kohlhagen@gmail.com or 920-254-7616
Where is help needed this year?
1. Silent Auction – dropping off donation request letters to local businesses, calling for donations, picking up donations, making baskets and taking photos for online bidding.
2. Decorations – creating, collecting, making and buying decorations for the event.
3. Live Auction – calling businesses for larger donations to go into the live auction and bundling them together if need be.
4. Invitations/Thank you cards – ordering and sending out invitations and thank you cards to our donors and sponsors.
5. Raffle Ticket Sales – We have an amazing raffle! The office will be selling a majority of the tickets which only leaves us with needing a few people to sell tickets after masses.
6. Beer/Wine Tasting – contacting vendors, local breweries and local wineries to be at our event (Three Sheeps Brewery and Blind Horse are already committed) and creating signs to promote those vendors.
7. Whiskey Bar – helping locate a whiskey supplier, renting the furniture (couches, tables etc.) and arranging the food.
Please consider helping us out. This fundraiser CANNOT happen without volunteers.
All are welcome – parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle or family friend!
Now and Then
Seton’s 2020 spring fundraiser, The Mane Event, is themed “Now and Then”. We are asking parishioners for pictures from all of the schools including Seton, Holy Family, St. Dominic’s and St. Clement. Copies will be made and originals returned. We are creating a time line of from when the schools opened to present day. We are looking to have every school and as many years as possible represented. Thank you for all your help. Please drop off at Holy name office ATTN: Sara Lancour or email slancour30@hotmail.com.
From Home and School...
February 13th as a Box Tops turn-in day! Jeans and sweats for $2 or 20 box tops.
Time change: Blue Harbor Family Night is 4-8pm.
A fruit fundraiser will be starting next week. Watch Friday folders for more information.
Do You Have Old Eyeglasses Sitting Around?
There are millions of people in the world today who need eyeglasses to see clearly. Globally, one child in four cannot see well enough to learn to read without glasses. By age 40, 90% of adults experience a decrease in the ability to read print and need eyeglasses. Many developing countries lack the resources to manufacture quality lenses. The cost of imported eyeglasses is far beyond the means of the average citizen. Millions will fail to reach their economic, educational, and social potential without access to quality glasses.
Looking for a More Specific Way to Give?
Replacement of our school laminator. Total cost was $2000 but $1000 has already been covered by a donation. Remaining balance is $1000.
Continued work on our STEAM lab. Total budgeted cost is $23,000 but $8500 has been covered by a donation and a grant. Remaining balance is $14,500 to purchase teacher tech, some cabinets, and a 3D printer with supplies.
Items you may have at home. We continue to look for materials to use in our STEAM lab. Consider donating new or gently used wooden blocks, Legos, and craft materials.
