Message from the Principal
Dear Families,
We are looking forward to beginning the 2020-2021 school year. Whether you select in person learning or remote learning, we are here to help your child be successful. We are looking forward to an amazing school year!
No matter your choice, this year will be like no other we have had in the past. As we navigate all of the new protocols this year will bring, I ask one thing from you.....GRACE. We will do our best to make things as smooth as possible, but I am sure even with all of our effort we will have some challenges along the way. Your grace and patience will help us get through these challenges with ease. I encourage you to remain positive and encouraging with any conversations you have with our staff. I ask you to understand every decision we are making is to keep your child as safe as possible. We appreciate all of our parent support. Your kind words and encouragement have made a world of difference.
Sadly, due to COVID 19, our campus will be closed to all visitors. If you need to come to school and drop something off or to pick up your child, please call the school when you arrive and we will come outside to your car. We are happy to provide you curbside service. We still want you to be involved, so please stay in regular contact with teachers through email, phone calls. or the Remind app.
This is a very long newsletter with a lot of important information. Please keep reading and scrolling until the end. Thank you for working with us to make this year Better Together!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Atkins
Principal NSE

Covid-19 Mitigation Strategies
Your child's safety is very important to us. These are some of the things we are doing to prevent the spread of COVID 19 in our school.
- Parents are required to self prescreen their child before placing the child on the bus or dropping off at school. Any child with symptoms will not be sent to school.
- All students will eat breakfast in their classrooms.
- PK and Kinder will eat lunch in their classrooms.
- Grades 1-4 will eat lunch in the cafeteria one grade level at a time to allow for social distancing.
- We will teach and practice hand washing and social distancing.
- Frequent hand washing and sanitizing will occur throughout the day.
- Specials schedule will keep classes separated or socially distanced.
- Governor Abbot's mask order will be followed.
- Students will be encouraged to wear a mask or face shield when social distancing cannot take place. Students will be given lanyards for their masks.
- Student desks will be spaced apart throughout the classroom.
- High touch areas will be sanitized often.
- Library books will be quarantined 3 days after being checked in before being placed in circulation.
- In grades K-4, in-school students will be assigned their own iPad or Chromebook to use at school.
- Hand sanitizer stations will be placed in common area entrances.
- Anyone with symptoms of COVID-19 during school hours will be evaluated by our campus nurse and parent will be notified.
- Visitors will not be permitted on campus. Curbside service available.
- All rooms will be sanitized again each evening.
- Birthday cupcakes must be store bought and dropped off only.
