Principal's Message
Virtual Learners
- They should login and participate beginning at 8:00. Attendance is taken at 10:00 and anyone not online by then will be marked absent.
- Assignments should be completed and turned in on time. Grades are available for parents to view weekly in Parent Portal.
- Our online learners have committed to remaining virtual for 9 weeks.
Face to Face Learners
- Bring your fully charged device to school everyday. We are using the devices so that if the entire campus were to be sent home, your child could successfully navigate online.
- School begins at 7:45; anyone not present at 8:00 will be marked tardy.
Thank you again for your commitment to your child's education and future. If I can be of assistance, please reach out to me.
Best,
Kelly Brennion

Kinder
Hello from the Kindergarten Team,
As we continue to get acclimated to our new COVID environment, our scholars are adapting well.
In Reading/Language Arts, we are still developing letter recognition and letter sounds. This skill can be further practiced at home with your children. Sight word recognition is important as well. We will be sending home letter recognition and letter sound activities through the SeeSaw platform that they are already familiar with.
In Mathematics, we’ve worked on one more, one less than a number, composing numbers as well as number recognition up to 20. We are now introducing addition and subtraction word problems. With your help at home, we’re sure they will exceed the number20 quickly. They also receive math activities through SeeSaw. Please check your children’s IPad in the evening to ensure they are logging on for additional learning activities from the day. Please charge the device so that they can be prepared for the next days instruction.
We are so excited about the progress they are making, as we reach for EXCELLENCE! Please encourage your children to always do their best, be respectful and responsible, most importantly during this time, to WEAR their FACE MASKS and KEEP SOCIALLY DISTANCED. Your children’s safety is our priority.
Thank you for your continued support.
1st
First grade is adjusting to the new normal. In reading we will continue to review story elements. Students are learning about characters, plot, setting, and theme. In mathematics we are introducing adding and subtracting word problems.
We are excited with the growth we've seen the first nine weeks, and is looking forward for the upcoming nine weeks.

2nd Grade
We are rocking and rolling with our Math and Reading. We are diving deep into fiction and understanding the story elements. In Math we are making wave with our problem-solving using addition and subtraction. As a team we are so happy to have some of our scholars back in the classroom.
3rd grade
In Math, third graders are working on function tables to improve their multiplication and division skills.
4th grade
In reading fourth graders are focusing on informational texts. We are learning more about text features, cause and effect, and supporting details. As we continue to dive deeper, we will use T-charts to analyze question stems. In the upcoming weeks we will explore character change, story elements, and inferencing. Everyday will be a day of learning vocabulary, vocabulary, vocabulary!
Math is all about multiplication and division for us! We are exploring different word problems and learning how to interpret input/output tables. Ask us about the different strategies we have learned to multiply and divide larger numbers.
5th grade
5th grade is excited to be rolling into a new six week! We are now exploring the world of fractions. We will be adding and subtracting fractions with unlike denominators. We will be simplifying fractions and finding equivalent fractions. With all this new exploration of fractions, we will still spend daily time with problem-solving and learning our basic multiplication facts.
In 5th grade, we don't only focus on academics. We are also focused on building a strong community where teachers and students embrace their differences and applaud their common values. We worked on our identity webs and got to know each other a little better.
Specials
Art, Music, and Gym are so important that we call them "Specials"! Specials are going strong here on campus, with socially-distanced classes and outdoor Physical Education when weather allows. We are strengthening our genius with masks on, and dividers protecting ourselves and others. Specials links are available for virtual learners! Activities vary in length and can be done out of order. Please ask your student's teacher for the links.
Students identified as Gifted and Talented are working hard on their projects in "TAG" class. Students both on campus and at home have assignments in SeeSaw or Google Classroom each Monday to complete throughout the week. At-home learners participate in Zoom class every week.
