Weekly Highlights
- Grades K-2 teachers please present your "Good Luck" posters to assigned grades 3-5 class by Monday 4/4. We ask that POSTERS BE MADE BY YOUR CLASSROOM.
- Grades K-2 Teachers, please secure trip slips and money for trips. Please turn in your envelope by 8:30am Monday 4/4/16.
- All classrooms in the 4th Floor, Rm. 320, please make sure your classrooms are coverd by close of business 4/4 for testing.
- Zumbathon to De-Stress Before the Test Monday 4/4--- 9am :5th Grade / 9:50 am 3rd Gradee / 10:40 am 4th Grade
- Running Records for High Risk students (levels 1 as of last DRA) are due to Ms. Otto Due 4/8/16
Announcements:
- Grades K-2 please stay in the Auditorium clustered in grades.
- Please escort students to the bathroom before 9:30am for bus pick up to trips.
- Kindergarten & 2nd Grade--- Thursday 4/7 you must be on the bus by 8:30am. Please bathroom students immediately.
- For the safety of all students: All children must be ESCORTED to the bathroom or to their assigned classrooms.
- Teachers please review Chancellors Regulation 420 and 421.
This years instructional focus:
1. Guided Instruction in ELA and Math 2. Analyze Data to Drive Instruction
3. Incorporate technology in instruction
Important Reminders:
- Running Records for High Risk students (levels 1 as of last DRA) are due to Ms. Otto Due 4/8/16
- Morning line up @ 8:00 a.m. Auditorium All staff (K-5 teachers, ESL, Speech and Language, SETTS, Coaches--- to report to the Auditorium)
- Period 7 ends at 2:10pm
- End of day dismissal @ 2:10 p.m.- 2:20pm --- All staff (K-5 teachers, ESL, Speech and Language, SETTS, Coaches--- to report to the Auditorium/Little Yard)

- Monday PD's--- K-2 Writing Pacing / Grades 3-5 Please make sure your room is testing ready (all tables clear and covered walls).
- Paraprofessionals: Room 423 Computer Lab
- 9am/11:35am Guided Reading Grades K-2: Groups should be scheduled, independent tasks for students in place, organized guided reading material should be visible. For guided reading material visit room 211.Active flexible groups with task cards, & learning resource tools, i.e. graphic organizers, manipulatives should be evident.

Friday 4/8- Day: ELA, Math, Guided Reading/ Test Readiness, 2nd Math, Social Studies
- ** Running Records for High Risk students (levels 1 as of last DRA) are due to Ms. Otto
- 9am/11:35am Binders/Conferencing: Groups of students should be scheduled, independent tasks for students in place, teachers should be reviewing data (Grades 3-5 Benchmark Assessments/ DRA scores/ Weekly Quizzes)
- 2nd Math BlocK: Grades K-2: Students should engage in center math activities and small group reteach lessons that support areas identified by data as areas of weakness. NO WHOLE GROUP RETEACHING.
- 2nd Math Block: Grades 3-5: Students should be working on solving word problems in their math notebooks using CUBES. Students should solve 3 problems during a 40 min block. 10-15min should be used to review 1 of the problems. Reviewing is crucial for students understanding and misunderstandings to be discussed.
Ongoing Reminders:
- All STAFF must be at their Morning post at 8:00 am and Dismissal post at 2:10 pm.
- Period 7 ends at 2:10 pm ---- Dismissal post is from 2:10pm - 2:20pm
- Book Baggies: All students should have book baggies with just right books: 5 books max levels A-K / 3 books max levels L-Z--- Check students books for accuracy. Students should be shopping for books weekly and MUST keep a weekly reading log.
- As you greet our rockets this week please remember to greet our learners with kindness, organized, colorful, learning environments and with honest preparation for becoming literate, mathematicians, scientists, historians, critical thinkers willing and able to solve world problems, in other words PLAN, meaningful, productive interactive, and engaging lessons
