Try Something New- I Dare You!
A technology and learning strategy newsletter for teachers.
Tozzl
Tozzle is an online pin board that allows you to chat in real time with your students. It is simply a message board that can be used for discussions, collaboration, and student-teacher interaction. It also allows you to post links to websites, videos, etc. for students to access while you talk. If you are working with one class, but want to be available to your other students, open a Tozzle.
Technology for Assessment
FlipQuiz
FlipQuiz allows you to make Jeopardy like review games for your students. You can make your own assessment or use a pre-made assessment posted by other teachers. This is a simple, easy-to-use program. If you post your assessment to the site, students can access it at any time to review for tests.
SurveyMonkey
SurveyMonkey is a great way to open discussions and see what your students know about a subject. I often use surveys as an anticipation guide to begin discussion before we tackle a new subject. Answers can be anonymous and the site will generate a chart to help students visualize the results. You can also use it as a pre-test to see what students know before tackling a new standard.
