BUS TRANSPORTATION
The driver and students onboard will be required to wear a face covering as per guidelines.
Transportation will fully adhere to the OSPI guidelines. Public health experts believe that a “multi-layered” approach is preventative even when we cannot use every tool to prevent the spread of COVID19. We will do our best to place siblings in seats together; however, students will most likely be placed in each seat and sometimes with non-family members on the bus.
Hand sanitizer will be available to each student as they board the bus.
Bus windows and roof hatches will be opened to fresh air ventilation as weather permits. Coats, hats and layers of clothing are highly suggested during the cooler months.
Buses will be cleaned frequently. Buses will be cleaned at the end of each route, Sanitation of bus equipment will be guided per the manufacturer's instruction and hygiene guidelines.
Bus routes will be optimized to reduce the amount of time each student is riding the bus.
As students load the bus in the mornings, they will be directed to sit to the rear of the bus to the front.
For the return to home, all students at all school levels will be assigned seating according to their bus stop to promote distancing. School staff will assist in student line up and boarding onto the buses.
Social distancing will be encouraged and promoted at bus stops.
Families are encouraged to have students walk or bike to school using safe routes or consider driving students to school if possible.
Buses will be cleaned frequently. Buses will be cleaned at the end of each route set or trip, meaning at the completion of morning routes and then again at the end of the day. Sanitation of bus equipment will be guided per the manufacturer's instruction and COVID-19 guidelines.
