IMPORTANT VOTE ON MARCH 7 FOR TRUSSVILLE CITY SCHOOLS!
On Tuesday, March 7, a city-wide election will be held for the renewal and continuation of two Jefferson County school taxes and a 5.1 mill school district tax renewal. Trussville City Schools receives revenue from these existing taxes.
Approval of this renewal WILL NOT result in any new taxes for Trussville homeowners, but will simply continue existing sources of basic school funding.
The amount of money we receive from these taxes on an annual basis is 43% of our local revenue. To put that in perspective, the revenue we receive from these taxes on an annual basis is the equivalent of 59 teachers. Our goal is to increase our teaching staff, not decrease it!
We are confident Trussville citizens, who understand the importance of our school system to their community and the value of their homes, will approve this tax renewal.
This election will be held at your normal polling place from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 7th. Please vote FOR the school tax renewal March 7th so we can continue to provide the excellence in education that helps define our community!
If you have questions, please contact Trussville City Schools at 205-228-3000.

Mrs. Gamble’s second grade class at Magnolia Elementary watched the Presidential Inauguration last Friday. In celebration of the inauguration, each child drew a portrait of President Trump.
Watching the inauguration helped the students learn the following second grade Alabama social studies standard:
-Identify national celebrations that exemplify fundamental democratic values, including equality, justice, and responsibility for the common good.
Mrs. Gamble's class in 2012 also participated in this same project for the inauguration of President Obama.
