Exam Location and Schedule
The only in-person exams this year will be World Language exams and Music Theory exams on May 21. All other exams will be held digitally at home.
The CHCCS AP Exam Schedule can be viewed here. Students can also view their individual exam schedules by logging into My AP.
Exam Times
If you are taking a digital exam at home, please note that you must login 30 minutes before the start of your exam. The exam application will automatically start the exam at the given time—either 12:00 PM or 4:00 PM. You will take the exam on your school-issued Chromebook. You can watch a video from College Board that provides an overview of digital exams here. Additional details and steps will be provided as they are released by College Board. Students will also have the opportunity to practice with the digital application before exams.
If you are taking an in-person exam, you will test at Chapel Hill High School. Details about a staggered arrival time and COVID precautions will be shared closer to the exam.
All students must be present at the beginning and throughout an AP exam.
In-person exams will start promptly at 8:00am and 12:00pm. Exams vary in length; however, AP exams tend to take around four hours to complete, including time to distribute and collect exam materials.
Parents picking up students testing in-person should plan to meet students at approximately 12:00pm and 4:00pm for morning and afternoon exams, respectively. There may be some time added to the beginning and ending of exams for administrative processes. Please be patient and understanding if an exam doesn’t end exactly at 12:00pm or 4:00pm.

Exam Conflicts
Since these are national and international exams, there are strict guidelines we must follow, including limited parameters for make-up tests. If there is an unexpected illness or emergency, please email Mrs. Dickerson at kdickerson@chccs.k12.nc.us immediately after the absence so she can order a late exam. Medical documentation may be required.
Reporting Scores to Colleges
Students will indicate in AP Central where they want to send their scores NO LATER than June 20. The College Board will send all exam scores for this year and any previous years to the university that you indicate for free. Therefore, it is only necessary to send scores if you are a senior.
To add their free score report recipient, students sign in to My AP (myap.collegeboard.org), go to My AP Profile, then click the "Score Send" tab. They may do this any time between now and June 20.
Timeline to View Scores
Due to the altered testing schedule, AP scores will be available on the following approximate schedule:
-Exams taken in May: Scores available in July
-Exams taken in June: Scores available in August
AP scores will be accessible to students online. Students will log in to their College Board account at apscores.org. They will receive an email from AP letting them know how and when to access scores. This is why it is important that students use a personal email that they check regularly for their College Board account. If you did not use a personal email and used your school email, you can update it in your account. Information about this process can be found here.
